Heading into the first week of men’s volleyball postseason action, below is a look at the happenings from around the country. The 2006 Men’s Volleyball National Collegiate Championship will be held on the campus of Penn State University on Thursday and Saturday, May 4 & 6. The winners of each of the three conference championships and one at-large team decided by the NCAA committee will comprise the four teams in the hunt for the national title at Rec Hall. Quarterfinal Matches: Previous Meetings This Season
• Juniata vs. St. Francis
St. Francis won both of the previous meetings this season. On Feb. 22 in Loretto, Pa., the Red Flash claimed the three-game victory (30-21, 30-16, 35-33) while taking the contest in Huntingdon, Pa., on March 29 in four games (27-30, 30-25, 30-25, 35-33).
• Princeton vs. Rutgers-Newark
Rutgers-Newark won both of the previous meetings this season. The Scarlet Raiders outlasted the Tigers in five games (23-30, 38-36, 24-30, 30-27, 15-11) on Feb. 18 in Princeton, N.J., before Rutgers-Newark won in four (17-30, 30-25, 30-20, 30-28) on March 7 in Newark, N.J.

Quarterfinal Matches: Previous Meetings This Season
• Carthage vs. IPFW
IPFW claimed the lone meeting between the two schools this season in three games (30-14, 30-23, 30-23) in the first match of the year for the Mastodons on Jan. 13.
• Mercyhurst vs. Ball State
Ball State swept the regular season series with Mercyhurst. The Cardinals claimed the Feb. 11 meeting in three games (30-27, 30-21, 30-28) in Muncie, Ind., and also took the road contest in three games (30-25, 30-20, 30-23) on April 8.
• Quincy vs. Ohio State
The meeting between the two schools will be the third in as many weeks, with Ohio State claiming both of the previous contests. The Buckeyes swept the Hawks 30-19, 30-27, 30-27 on April 8 in Columbus, Ohio, and also took the road contest in three games (30-23, 34-32, 30-28) on April 15.

• UCLA vs. Hawaii
Hawaii leads the season series with UCLA, 2-1. The Bruins outlasted the Warriors in the final match of the Outrigger Invitational in Honolulu on Jan. 20, 3-2 (30-26, 30-26, 25-30, 27-30, 16-14) for their lone win in the season series. Hawaii defeated UCLA on back to back nights in Honolulu, claiming a four-game victory (30-25, 30-19, 28-30, 30-24) on March 10 and a three-game win (30-24, 30-23, 30-28) on March 11.
• Cal State Northridge vs. Pepperdine
The two teams split the season series this year, with each squad winning on its home court. The Waves edged the Matadors in five games (30-24, 30-26, 35-37, 26-30, 15-13) on Feb. 18 before Cal State Northridge swept Pepperdine in three games (30-22, 30-28, 30-26) on April 5.
• Brigham Young vs. Long Beach State
Long Beach State claimed both of the previous meeting this season. The 49ers outlasted the Cougars in five games (29-31, 26-30, 30-26, 30-22, 15-13) on April 6 in Long Beach, Calif., and then also claimed a four-game win the following night (29-31, 30-28, 30-27, 30-24).
