I was almost right. Instead of droppiong to 2 UH stays at 1. Not too surprised considering the circumstances of the match, though it very surprising how UH got all of their 15 votes from last week. Am I missing something here? It lists the loss, so it must have been after, right?
Also Stanford only jumps one place. Nothing like the womens' poll where teams were moving all over the place, huh?

It has Hawaii's loss to Stanford which was after the 21st. I'm guessing the date was a typo.

That is last weeks poll. It shows LBSU at 4-1, they are now 6-2. Also, UCLA is still number 3 and LBSU is still number 8. I would think that they would have both moved after LBSU beat UCLA.

Congratulations to UCI on their first top ranking. It's always nice to be ranked first in the poll...However, no one should take these rankings too seriously, especially when it's too early in the season to "count your chickens."
Every team faces injuries, and other problems no matter how good they are (Hawaii is facing this problem now). Hopefully every team will stay healthy to assure an exciting season, but you can't depend on that.
As far as the number #1 ranking, when a team plays EVERYONE at least once and remains unbeaten, then and only then will they have a true top spot. If anyone remembers 2 years ago, Pepperdine won their first 8 matches, and looked unbeatable. However, they lost most of their 2nd half matches. Hopefully UCI can maintain their momentum...I haven't seen them play yet, so I'll reserve judgment on their ranking right now. They have to get past Pepperdine and BYU first ; )

CSUN and LBSU traded places in this weeks poll. Sure CSUN slipped down the polls, but it has been ages since they have been in the top ten of the AVCA poll. Keep up the good work Matadors. That is last weeks poll. It shows LBSU at 4-1, they are now 6-2. Also, UCLA is still number 3 and LBSU is still number 8. I would think that they would have both moved after LBSU beat UCLA.

I thought that CSUN would still stay ahead of LBSU. Oh well, what do I know? Other than the top 2, everyone else will probably slide up and down each week. USC is getting better - they played CSUN and LBSU tough.
