so, who will get the at large? make your case.
also, what will the seeding be like for the final four if ucla wins? or long beach?
my case: uci should get the at large. hawaii had one more league lost. got swept in first playoff game, as did uci. however, i would say hawaii's lost is more damaging to it's at large chances than uci's lost to a very powerful long beach team.
if long beach win's the automatic bid. long beach should be first seed and uci second, with the two midwest and east coast teams getting the 3 and 4.
if ucla wins, then uci should be first and ucla second?

I think this is pretty much a no-brainer. UCI will get the 1 and UCLA would get the 2 considering they beat LBSU. UCI proved all year they were the team to beat and that does not change now. Some people say that it is good to get the loss now to get it out of your system, but I wouldn't shrug it off and say, "we are still going to the final 4 anyway no big." Pressure is on them...

Doesn't the winner of the MPSF tournament automatically get the #1 seed?

Why do we even have this thread? It's only obvious that UCI is going to get it. UH is done for the year. "Guys, you don't need to report for practice tomorrow."
As for the other question.... UCI will get the first seed and UCLA will get third.

I'm rooting for UCI because we got the local boy Asuka still in it! Go UCI! Win it this year so that UH can kick butt next year against you guys in the Final!

From listening in on the "floor" last night it seems that not everyone is sold that UCI is a lock. Yeah, I want them in myself, but the committee has a history of doing some odd things. Right now I'm about 75% sure that Irvine will have the At-large but hey, I've been wrong many times before.

Is UCSD still practicing? They beat Stanford who beat UOP who beat Northridge who beat both UCLA and CSULB who just beat UCI. If Hawaii practices today, enjoy...it will be your last practice of the season.

UCI ARE IN! Even Hawaii also knows it. Check the SB and Advertiser today.
Rec Hall is a Great Venue for volleyball. I was there for the 2002 Championship.
Their fans are great. Reminds me alot of BYU fans. 90% students - and they don't need much to get them pumped up. The stands are right on top of you. The Anteaters would be right at home at the REC.
Should Penn State lose in the semi final, find a way to get the fans on your side. They were the difference when Vili the Warrior and his family showed up for the Pepp/Hawaii Game.
The place was electric. 80% of the fans were Hawaii fans in that game. If made a difference for an emotional team like Hawaii.
Maybe babes in Bikinis might work in Happy Valley, PA.

This is EXACTLY why they need to expand the NCAA Tournament for DI &II. So many teams that are capable of winning the tournament (from the MPSF) that aren't making it.
Sigh.
