I guess his wife said she would not be there to greet him and instead his mistress was. It looked a little awkard. The Chile caption originally identified the woman as his wife. Johnny Barrios was the guy's name. NYTimes has a feed/blog going that explains it.
Here's my question - the last rescuer: how does he get the door shut? And does he have to turn off the lights and bring up the camera?

Here's my question - the last rescuer: how does he get the door shut? And does he have to turn off the lights and bring up the camera? I had the same thought. "OK, you need to clean it all up, straighten out the rocks a little bit, and oh, make sure the faucets are off before you get back up. And be quick about it, we've been here long enough!"

"Didn't I hear somewhere there were two women holding vigil and found out they were there for the same guy? Wonder if they will show that reunion on TV. " Saw on a news update, one was his wife, one was his lover. Wonder if he'll choose to stay down there a bit longer? Oh man, I wish I knew which one it was and who was there to greet him. Reality TV at its finest! I heard that one guy had four women claiming to be attached to him, in addition to his wife. However - I would think that some of these women are just looking to score some cash. There were apparently some fierce arguments over who would get benefits, although it would seem to me that only the wives would have any legal standing for the married miners.

I read that Mr. Barrios loves both women, and hopes they will eventually become friends. Good luck with that. You got 'splainin' to do, Mr. Barrios.

He who cheats on his wife should not become famous.
On a serious note, this newfound "fame" will be both a blessing and a curse. To go instantly from an unknown to a celeb can be as much of a psychological shock as being trapped underground for 2 months and then suddenly set free.

More bad news.
It turns out there were 38 of the miners originally.
