"and malfunctioning sperm." Hmmm, I thought the vibrate mode was to keep your ringtome from going off in meetings.
Seriously, I have wondered about the general increase in electromagnetic radiation. Think about how much energy is constantly transmitted. Wireless in every house, cell phones, radar, power lines, the list goes on. The truth is that the issue is probabilistic. When DNA is replicating, it only takes one defect to cause a cancer to begin The trick is that it has to be the correct defect to, for example turn off a cell's built in mechanism to stop replicating at the correct time, and also be invisible to the immune system so that it is not targeted as foreign. It's sort of like driving, how many near misses have you had compared to serious accidents. Also, the more you drive, the more your chance of a serious accident increases. I don't believe that there is any true "safe" radiation dose, just very low probabilities.
If you want another interesting correlation, take autism. There has been a lot of chatter about vaccines and the "increase" of autism. The case could also be made for increases in electromagnetic radiation. Of course, the first rule of statistics is "correlation is not causation". Still, some food for thought.
