at least their MRTs...or subway system. They're trying to keep everyone vigilant against terrorist attacks, and doing so by running public announcement video as the passengers are waiting in the station. They have the typical drills and what to do should something happen, and have went as far as showing images from the Madrid train bombing and saying "this can happen to you...".
Then there is the 1950's quartet who sings about giving up your seat to the elderly, handicapped, preggers, etc...."Love your ride!"

Guess that's one way to get the public's attention. Ooh, my last night in Singapore I ate at a food stall next to the Esplanade on the boardwalk. I think it was Thai, Malay, or Singaporean food...don't know for sure. But I ordered a dish called "La La" which is basically small clam in a sweet hot chili sauce, 4 BBQ king prawn, and a small dish of seafood fried rice...which, ironically, lacked any seafood. I think all this came out to be SGD24, which is just under USD$20. Was a good find considering I just lost some $$$ at the new Marina Bay Sands casino in under 10 minutes, and I was resigned to have McDonald's for dinner.
