No, not the venue, the phone company. Can someone explain to me why it is they think they can raise their charge for VM service from $7.95/month to $10.00/month? If anything, the price should be going DOWN (or be part of their basic service).

Are you going to pay it?

No, I cancelled the service. I don't know why I was paying $7.95 to tell you the truth. I'd dump the whole landline except that I have a DSL contract.

Well, if enough other people cancel it, then it will have been a mistake on their part.

Once they find out who just cancelled, heads will roll!

Sounds like the same dig as the one you posted re my football complaint. Am I not allowed to vent anymore?

most people don't even look at their bill, and have no idea what they are paying for. so if they raise their prices on things every so often, most customers don't notice.
that's how these types of companies continue to reap huge profits.

Comcast does the same thing. Several times we've gotten a bill that is higher, for no reason, than the last bill. My wife always calls...complains...gets some cock n' bull story. We have VOIP, internet and TV. At some point I'm going to cancel phone...get satellite TV and not sure what to do about internet, maybe Frontier Communications.
I think NOTME is right....they do these small increases, 90% don't notice and just pay. Really stinks.

Unfortunately, I really like my Direct TV.
Otherwise I would be switching everything. And then switch every year or so.
Almost daily, I get mail from Comcast or Verizon with a $99 per month plan for TV, Internet, and Phone. Although I'm sure it would be higher when you add stuff to the TV plan.
If you just use the basics, you could just get that $99 plan for a year, then switch to the other company when they raise the rate.

I don't even open my bill . It gets automatically deducted from my credit union account. Guess I better start checking.

What I hate about Qwest is that I can be a long-time customer, paying $80/month for something, and then I see something better on TV for like $19.99/month for the first six months and $69.99 after that or something... and when I call about it, I don't qualify because I'm already a customer. And even when I explain that my contract ends in two months and I could easily switch if I can't have this deal - they don't care.
