Just finished reading this series. Finished it in 4 days. One of those "couldn't put it down" books. Someone told me it is for "young adults", like the Twilight books. I couldn't get past the first 10 pages of Twilight, but I loved this. If/when they make a movie, it will be one gory, bloody, violent film.

See, I can't decide if I want to read it, or not.
I am not a fan of gore ...

At dinner on Oct 28th, my mom (retired HS English teacher) was asking my sister (elementary school teacher) whether she taught these books. It was the first I had ever heard of them.
My sister said that the books were too intense for her grade level (4th). But she liked them and thought they were interesting books for older kids.
Their discussion made me think I wanted to read them.

Their discussion made me think I wanted to read them. Two thumbs up from me. Like I said earlier, very violent (in a "Saving Private Ryan" sort of way), but really enjoyed them. Had some Sci Fi, bit of romance, war, thought-they-were-the-good-guy-whoa-now-they're-the-bad-guy stuff. Something for everyone - except vampire lovers. ] Agree with your sister - too intense for 4th graders.
