NEWSFLASH! John Cook is still a @$$%*!*, and a sore loser who can't keep his mouth shut when his team loses. You've finally touched on a subject you no doubt can speak of with a great deal of intelligence. Congratulations.

Summary-
1) Cook- sore loser, big mouth
2) McLaughlin already said he overreacted. ( I would have preferred a punch in the nose, however.LOL.)
3) Tempest in a freakin teapot.
4) lots of drama queens on Volleydork.
5) Quit beating a dead horse.
6) Put down your supersized bag of DORITOS and step away from the keyboard.
( Don't you clowns have some Christmas shopping to do or something?)
7) I wonder who the next moron to keep this worthless drivel going will be?

Are you a politician as you have an outstanding ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth? "JMac reacted poorly, though I support what he did and would have done the same thing". What does that say about you? I guess that says that I stand up for myself and those important to me in the face of blatant disrespect and I support those who also do. Ok ok. There is a certain level of nobility in that. But how does one choose when the line is crossed that would indicate a response such as Coach Mac in this instance? Let me be clear. Coach Cook didn't need to say what he said. "Good game and good luck" would have been a much wiser choice. Having said that, if he is the whiny, slime-ball loser of a person many on VT portray him to be, it should come as no surprise he said what he said. Furthermore, it is no leap of logic to suggest he said it simply to get under Coach Mac's skin. Did it work? No doubt. A childish game? Also no doubt. So forgetting for a moment public opinion, who won? Cook in a landslide. He wanted to get under Mac's skin. Cook was mad and hurt and as childish as it was, he wanted to do or say something that would get someone else mad. It's an issue of control. Most of us have done the same thing. That doesn't make it right, as the concept of right and wrong is not, IMO a relative concept. What it does is make him human. So what about Mac? For what part if this unfortunate situation is he responsible. My mom used to tell me when I was younger, "Don't be a thermometer." Her point being that a thermometer is a device that simply reacts to the environment around it. There is no thought process needed. If the temperature rises, the mercury expands. If the temperature cools, the mercury contracts. The thermometer has no choice. Its a law of science. No though process needed. The only responsibility is to react to outside stimuli. Lou Holtz said, "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react." Look. No one would ever call me a passivist. But if I reacted in an assertive if not aggressive manner every time I felt I was disrespected, I would probably be a resident in the Dept. Of Correctional Services and not an employee. Now I am not for one second comparing coach Mac to those in our penal system as that would be ludicrous. But you might be amazed at the number of men who are in prison as a direct result of their perception that they were "dissed". They accept zero responsibility for there actions and blame their incarceration totally on something they had absolutely no control over. 10% They could only control how they responded. 90% I think the issue many Husker fans have is the perception that many of Coach Mac's supporters refuse to hold him responsible for his actions. It's the classic, "Yes-but" defense. And the fact that many of us, even Husker fans, may have reacted in a similar manner does not make it any more okay. The concept of right and wrong is not determined by public opinion as often seems to be the case, and IMO is the cause for many of our societies ills. If a million people believe in a dumb idea, it's still a dumb idea. Bottom line. Coach Cook was wrong. And looking at his reaction totally independent of what Coach Cook did/said, Coach Mac was wrong as well.

NEWSFLASH! John Cook is still a @$$%*!*, and a sore loser who can't keep his mouth shut when his team loses. Do you have absolutely anything intelligent to say? I can answer that with a resounding NO!I know this guy. He is like the guy who always got snapped with a towel after 8th grade gym class. He always got picked last when picking teams on the playground. Instead of standing up for himself, he secluded himself from society, further perpetuating his feeling of not fitting in. But now........now he can sit behind the safety of his keyboard, his only real friend, and be an online bully. He doesn't care that he has a warning level of 75%. In fact he looks at it as a badge of honor, proof in his mind that, unlike in 8th grade, he is now willing to stand up for himself. I see guys like this in the Department of Corrections every day. They talk a good game, but when push comes to shove, they're just like the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz. One slap on the nose from Dorothy and they cry like a little baby.

Mac has said he overreacted, and is instructed by UW officials to wait for NCAA's decision. Obviously both coaches behaved inappropriately, but what Cook did afterwas keep talking to the media while insinuating that Tom Osborne is behind his action. I think all that's possible to be said on this matter had been said.

Think again....these clowns are not done beating this dead horse yet...I guarantee it. The Nebraska fans won't be satisfied until the UW fans blame McLaughlin, and the UW fans won't be satisfied until the Nebraska fans blame Cook. Eventually everybody will get tired of posting, but we'll still see people harping on it occasionally years from now.

Well, fortunately, DORITOS are loaded with so many preservatives that they'll still be good when these dorks are posting about this crap years from now.
