Ok stanfordvb, please make a prediction who will commit to Stanford for 2022 and 2023. You got Miner right on for 2021.

Is it confirmed that Stanford is actually recruiting Rubin? There have been earlier posts in this thread that suggested possibly otherwise. Are there are any other Stanford targets for 2022? Maybe Stanford will pull out another surprise recruit like Alade...

I would bet the house that Rubin ends up at Stanford. She's way to strong to be uncommitted. The fact she hasn't committed, to me, is an indication she is all in on Stanford. I agree. The rest of the "top" players have all announced their commitments to great programs...the only likely reason Rubin hasn't announced is because of the way Stanford admissions works. Assuming coldsnap is correct, Rubin wouldn't be able to announce a commitment to Stanford until much later in her Junior year, possibly even into the summer (see Sami Francis and Kami Miner).

Stanford has two 2022 recruits who are waiting to commit, I was asked not to share the names, both will be good additions to the program. Everyone will be probably be able to guess in a few months when other top recruits have all committed

Xu vs Miner : Compare and contrast plz for us non-stanford fans? I'm genuinely curious. Hype-wise, seems like two very good setters back to back

Hype-wise, seems like two very good setters back to back I think xu is further along in terms of skill than miner, and not just because she’s older. Imo xu was better as a senior than miner is now. Xu’s strength is extremely impressive cause she doesn’t look like she’d be able to set some of the balls she does. I think miner has a higher ceiling and is more athletic. I’m pretty sure she’s taller than xu, also jumps higher. It will be a huge battle between those two, and is gonna result in an elite setter sitting the bench which sucks.

Hype-wise, seems like two very good setters back to back Miner reminds me of Alisha Glass coming out of high school. Super athletic, spent a lot of time as a hitter, oozes potential as a setter. I think she eventually comes out on top, which is unfortunate for Xu because she’d start at literally any other program in the country.

Miner is a little smaller, arguably a little more explosive. Super athletic. Trying to think of a comparison for Xu...maybe a smaller, smoother Kylie Miller? Maybe even Cassidy Lichtman. Just gets the job done.

I agree with most of this but are u implying miner has hit more than set? Setting has been her primary position since she was 13, and for 2 years now I’m pretty sure she’s exclusively set

The question was originally asked about Rubin so that is why I posted only about her. I was not implying any other top players were committed to Stanford if they hadn't already announced. I speculated only on Rubin. Let's check back in 10 months.
