She is the 3rd assistant I believe. New NCAA rule Yes. Used to be a volunteer position. Now it’s a paid position.

Hopefully she’ll be a great new assistant coach, but I miss the days when coaching announcements were of people like Cassidy Lichtman, Alisha Glass, and Courtney Thompson…

Softball just received a freshman transfer from Indiana. Is the process of getting transfers becoming easier?

Softball just received a freshman transfer from Indiana. Is the process of getting transfers becoming easier? I know football has negotiated some kind of deal. I don’t know how Title IX would figure into things, but it seems like there might be difficulties for one sport to be able to do it without others being able to follow. To me it’s even more important in the partial scholarship sports. But what do I know? Stanford has been mega successful in athletics for a much longer time and at a level I didn’t think would be possible doing it their way. Even a minor relaxing of the transfer protocols could be a huge boon. Imagine this Stanford team with Wisconsin’s TTA or Carter Booth on the roster.

The landscape of college sports and even volleyball is changing. Hopefully Stanford adapt as well. Stanford will be successful even if they don't. I worry to what level that success will be in the future if they don't. It will be hard to compete with the "super" teams being created through transfers, IMO.

Well, Stanford has my admiration for being as successful as they are as it is. My thing about transfers is needing to replace departures. That hasn't been an issue in volleyball, and maybe it never is. But you have to have transfers in football. There's no way around it any more. And if you have transfers in football, the other sports are going to wonder why they can't have transfers, too. Once you break the seal, it's tough to argue why one sport gets favorable treatment. I mean, sure, if you're Alabama or Texas it's pretty easy to make the argument, whether it flies or not. But Stanford would be much tougher, I'd think. But I'm an outsider speculating. So take it for what you're paying me for it.

Charlotte Glass to Duke. Good choice for her. I didnt ever think Stanford was gonna offer her honestly, she's a great player but didn't seem quite at the level Stanford would usually go for. huge get for duke though

Taylor has made usa teams at levels glass is yet to reach ( and both have tried out). also Stanford may be looking for their next starter in the 2025 class if hambly sees yu as more of a backup. I don't think dunning recruited chang thinking she was going to start one day. most teams have a scholarship setter on the bench
