I am going to be in the SF area during the BigTen/Pac12 Challenge. If anyone had suggestions on good seats at Maples I would appreciate a DM with advice. Thanks!

Funny how everyone assumes she’s only considering Texas and Stanford…🤔 I assume she is considering a number of schools. But some facts: Stanford only has one scholarship MB on the roster for 2025. Taylor's younger sister is now a freshman at Stanford. Our other MB recruit Zoe just committed to Duke - hard to believe she picked Duke over Stanford if she had a Stanford offer. So the tea leaves suggest that either 1) Taylor has committed to Stanford (we are the only school that doesn't announce commits), 2) we somehow lost a commit to Duke, 3) our staff literally can't add I would suggest that #1 is most likely. Why is it hard to believe she picked Duke over Stanford? Duke is a great school academically and for sports. They’re also clearly offering something that players are buying into given the recent transfers and recruits. And let’s be real… stanfords future in athletics is a giant ? right now. With the parity increasing across the board, I don’t think any recruit is a sure-thing any more until it’s announced.

Last time Duke made the tournament was 2018. Last time they made the round of 16 was 2010. Never gotten farther. Duke is not a good volleyball school. Whatever Stanford's conference future is the volleyball program is wildly stronger.

Ideally Stanford wants the Big 10 to take them in with an invitation. Also ideally Notre Dame decides it wants a Big Ten invite. I doubt it happens if NBC provides the Irish with a in the ballpark media deal that the two powerhouse conferences will enjoy. Twenty is a good number with four pods of five teams. The west coast portion has four automatic and familiar opponents yearly. But I think the Irish and NBC come to an agreement and Notre Dame maintains its independence with its own national network.

If no Big Ten invite happens soon, say within the next year, I could definitely see Taylor not joining her sister at Stanford. The great academic and athletic university is under a lot of pressure to get the invite. Otherwise, things can unravel in various ways for their sports programs. Recruiting in some key sports would show negative consequences and even transfers out. It is a whole new world in big-time athletics. You blink you can miss the on-going changes.

Stanford fans going from "Zoe is a main recruiting priority for us" to "She wasn't offered" within two pages is pretty fascinating

Stanford fans going from "Zoe is a main recruiting priority for us" to "She wasn't offered" within two pages is pretty fascinating I think I was the only who said I dont think we offered her... and I never called her a priority my impression was that it was similar to the Charlotte glass situation (someone who fans really liked but there was never any real credible info that the staff was going after her in the first place). The only things I ever heard about Zoe and Stanford were other fans on here saying they wanted her without any inside knowledge of if she was even being recruited

Small tournament. Stayed the whole time, solely on Drive Nation's court. That seems like credible info for sure. They were definitely interested in Zoe. It was more than just fans.

I stand behind what I said in that I think it would probably be unlikely she received a scholarship offer from Stanford and chose duke instead. maybe she did, I just dont imagine Stanford often loses recruiting battles to non ranked programs. the same way Nebraska / texas fans would think if a supposed scholarship offered player randomly committed to Oklahoma. it would draw cause to think maybe the player in question wasn't officially offered a scholarship yet

I don't know if she was offered either.

You think Taylor is committed even though she has official visits lined up to other schools? Does that fly with Hambly? lol I’m going to assume they didn’t have access to that info when saying that
