STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's volleyball program has announced its 2024 schedule, including 20 matchups in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play.
The Cardinal, which finished the 2023 season ranked No. 5 in the final AVCA Poll, opens the season at Milwuakee on Friday, Aug. 30. Stanford will then face Minnesota (Sept. 1) and Wisconsin (Sept. 2) at Fiserv Forum as part of the Women's College Volleyball Showcase airing on FOX and FS1.
Stanford's home opener is set for Sunday, Sept. 15 against reigning national champion Texas. The Cardinal also welcomes Kentucky to The Farm on Sept. 21 for its other nonconference matchup at Maples Pavilion.
Additionally, Stanford's nonconference slate includes matches at Marquette (Sept. 4), UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 10), Pepperdine (Sept. 11) and Nebraska (Sept. 18).
The Cardinal begins its inaugural ACC season at Notre Dame on Sept. 27 and will host Louisville for Senior Night on Nov. 30. Stanford will take on rival Cal twice in three days in late October. The Cardinal will host the Golden Bears on Friday, Oct. 25 as members of its 1994 and 2004 national championship teams will be celebrated during Homecoming weekend.
Season ticket renewals and deposits are underway, while single match tickets will be available at a later date. Visit the Women's Volleyball Ticket Central for more information.

I know it was only against Suriname but I really like what I saw from Blyashov today.
She clearly was the vocal leader.. and she served and hit really well. Really like her armswing.
I think Stanford will have a very good OH combo in Rubin-Blyashov in the next couple years and Demaria coming in (assuming she commits to Stanford) will be equally as potent.

How does stanford beach have multiple verbal commits to the “application process” in the 2026 class but Demaria can’t announce something similar being an entire year ahead? Am I missing something?

Well it seems like none of the top recruits (most especially OH) will be committing to Stanford for 2026 which would put more pressure on their 2027 recruitment.
We will be very thin in the OH for 2027 as Blyashov would have graduated by then leaving Demaria (if she commits to Stanford) as the only OH and maybe Kurt - if she stays for her 5th year. This is also a result of failing to get a top OH for the 2024 class.
I wish we had Lucy Chertock. She would have made this 2025 class even better.

You’re not missing something. Kevin Hambly simpy has a different approach to recruitment than Andrew (Fuller). Obviously Hambly got it from Denise Corlett where a recruit cannot publicly declare their commitment unless they have been accepted to Stanford whereas obviously Fuller is being more risky.

Parks is a stud and can set or hit. Sayers and Dunkle both are phenomenal athletes just not 6’5! Sayers is more offensive, Dunkle is more defensive. Etzler is also very solid in the back row and even hits at times. Just need to be patient. I have faith.

I suspect Stanford may be looking at Makenna Crosson 6-3 OH from Archbishop Mitty/Vision for 2026. She is the daughter of former Cal coach Sam Crosson who is now coaching at nearby West Valley College. She is a 6-rotation player and reminds me of Brittany Howard (tall/lanky frame with good all-around game) but with more power. I think she'd be a good get, especially with essentially all the other top 2026 OH off the board already and basically being from Stanford's backyard. I understand she's also looking at Minnesota, not sure who else. I hope Stanford is also looking at Kayla Nwabueze, 6-2 MB out of Legacy/Michigan. I suspect there could be some mutual interest there. She could be the dynamic middle we need after losing out on Harvey. Ella Andrews 6-4 MB from the same Legacy club team could also be someone to keep an eye on but may be looking to stay in Big Ten country. I guess the longer these athletes stay uncommitted the better for Stanford...

Part of me thinks education is going to be as equally important as volleyball for her. She looks/plays like Mckenna Wucherer of Minnesota. Hopefully she doesn’t go to Minnesota.

Miner did what needed to be done today. Hands down the best future setter prospect the US has right now. With the horrendous passing , she was able to set the team to a great hitting percentage and better the ball consistently. Crossing my fingers we have the right pieces around her this year to make her last run special!

Sayer and Dunkle are solid but Nwabueze is one of the most athletic and dynamic middles in her class. She comes from a high achieving academic family and follows every Ivy League volleyball team on social media. I have no idea if she’s interested in Stanford but I hope Hambly at least considers her if she is. On a more relevant note, I noticed Sarah Hickman 6-5 lefty OPP from Houston follows StanfordWVB, Stanford University, Stanford Athletics, Stanford Engineering, Alex Dunphy, Mike Johnson, and essentially every current Stanford player and future Stanford recruit. That has to be an encouraging sign…

She’s one of the best, not sure there’s a clear #1. Hickman and Nadiya Johnson are two you hear a lot, along with Robinson who can play either pin.

Not the hardest hitter but a 6'5 block would be nice.

Just looked at the 2024 roster and Stanford only has one MB listed. Are we expecting a transfer in or for someone to switch to MB from OH? I don’t keep up with this team too much(so idk what freshmen will come in) but wanted to pose the question.
