Stanford would win. All UCLA has to offer is may who could play oppo with Lanier and Botkin on the left. Who has the better lib tho, or better lib prospect bc both graduated. I'm not sure an All-Star team of the best of the rest in the Pac could beat Stanford. Hmmm really, even with some practice? Ok. This Stanford team is very good but they aren’t unbeatable. A number of teams with holes last year took sets off them. Hell, Nebraska almost beat them with non-existent offense from their OH2 and Middle. I have a hard time seeing a team with legitimate arms across the net in all rotations not having a pretty good chance to take Stanford out.

Put more first team AA players on the other side and maybe....oh wait.

Today’s updates World University Games: McClure saw action in two sets today (subbed in 1st, started 2nd). Unsure what points she scored. Fitz saw action in all three sets, double sub in the 1st, started OPP in the 2nd and OH2 in the 3rd. 5 kills and 2 blocks. Gates played the 2nd and 3rd sets, had an ace, not sure what else.
Pan American Cup: Plummer played all three sets, scored 11 points on 10 kills and 1 block.

Lanier, bajema , stone, Drew’s, powell, gross, Brooke N imo could compete, but still think Stanford overall would be the better team. I mean the only players on this roster that start 100 percent are Lanier and stone on this Stanford team

I didn't even know, Madeleine Gates transferred to Stanford. Just to be clear: Madeleine graduated from UCLA (economics), and got accepted to grad-school at Stanford.

Is it because the volleyball team it self does not accept people, or the university itself doesnt accept transfers easily?

No, its because all undergrad transfers are pooled and competed together and last year only (if I'm remembering this right) 44 were admitted. I think something like 2000 applied.

A couple of recent years only 25 or so undergrads transferred in. Thanks for the update Hammer.

The criteria is also somewhat different because you now have a track record from your current college.

I knew stanford was competitive but I did not realize it was THAT competitive Considering Stanford's freshman admit rate for non-athletes, non-huge-donors is under 5%, that is not a surprise. It is actually the lowest admit rate in the country for unhooked applicants. Not bad for a Jr. University.

Last week, I watched game 1 of Stanford's home match against Colorado. They weren't dominant at all until the end. I seem to remember this pattern from many of their other matches. Of course, they could lose a few this year. Regardless of how good Kipp and the other recruits are, they have a major middle to replace, and maybe (just maybe) the PAC won't be as weak as they were last year. Anyway, to paraphrase Honey Roy Palmer, other teams could always get lucky.
