Somebody explain "Stanford is Stanford" to me. I was suggesting that Tufuga chose Stanford for all the reasons why it is one of the best institutions in the world, rather than just because she has a sibling there. You bit. They knew.

I have a question. When you look at a teams' roster, it usually lists 15-17 players. I realize that 12 are the max that can be on scholarship meaning 3-5 are considered walk-ons. My question is this; Are there other players that are not listed on Roster that are part of the team? Are there more walk-ons that are practice players but do not show up on the roster? I've never heard of any practice players for a team who are not listed on the roster. Â There are walk-ons on every team, and there are some players who do not have 4-year scholarships. Â Many defensive players have 1, 2 or 3 years of scholarship. Â Stanford has given 3 year scholarships to many players, including a top 2010 recruit, Rachel Williams. Â So they can spread the money out to a bit more than 12 players over time. Â Current Pac-12 regulations are that if you sign a scholarship offer as a freshman, a scholarship has to be offered for all 4 years, so the players with less than 4 years would not be on scholarship as a freshman. Is there still a cap on how many players can travel to away games?

My question to Stanford fans is: does Kipp play middle? Or does Fitz play middle again with Kendall playing right? Or does Plummer play right, Kipp play outside, and Fitz play middle? What have y’all speculated? Just wondering

What have y’all speculated? Just wondering These are probably the two most likely scenarios: Kipp sits the bench, or Kipp plays front row for McClure. I would love to see Kipp on the right but that probably won’t happen until 2020, unless she ends up slotting on the left for 2020 and beyond as well. She’s impressive on either pin and I can probably see a similar situation of Plummer staying on the left if it’s the best for the team. I think she should be a right side tho

She really developed well this past year and became consistent I feel! Also who’s taking Alade’s spot? One of the incoming freshman? And thanks!

Quite possibly it will be: OPP: Fitz, MB2: Gates, OH1: Plummer OH2: Kipp, MB1: Campbell, S: Gray, L: Hentz DS: Formico (Fitz), DS: McClure (Kipp) Although, I think Stanford can “get away” with Kipp, and the four other freshman redshirting this season (my preference - as Stanford has the same starting lineup that won, all back except Alade) I would like to see for 2020: OPP: Kipp, MB2: Vicini, OH1: Baird OH2: McClure, MB1: Campbell, S: Xu, L: Oglivie/Formico Or replace McClure with Berty and then McClure could step into the libero role.

Agreed with most of the 2020 lineup. I like Leilah Smith though, so it will be interesting to see the middle battle. Also the libero battle will be interesting... I don’t know how good Lougeay is.

Kipp bench riding? Nah. That doesn’t seem realistic.

Yeah, i'm not sure about a few positions, especially middle. My thinking was that Vicini will have a year to compete against arguably the best team in the NCAA last year - minus Alade, and the favourites to be the best this upcoming year, which should do wonders for her game.

I can see Leilah getting the start especially being 6’5”! I’m excited for her

I honestly think if you’re wanting to put the best players on the floor together, your best option might be: OH - Plummer/McClure MB - Fitz/Gates Opp- Kipp (DS Formico) S: Gray L: Hentz But I can totally see Kipp being front row for McClure and Gates filling in for Alade if Plummer’s passing is better and they’re wanting more offensive power.

I like this, but how much do you really change from a team that just won a natty. The good thing is that Stanford has plenty of options if things go awry

Had Gates not transferred to Stanford, replace Gates with Campbell and this is exactly what I would have wanted for this season. I'm a bit confused by your comment though - maybe I'm interpreting it incorrectly, but what does Plummer's passing have to do with Kipp, McClure, Gates and Alade? Disc808 yes, Stanford has multiple options. Hard to really go wrong with any of the starting lineup combinations imo.

I doubt Fitz moves from OPP, so that leaves few choices except for McClure/Kipp on the left. I suppose it's possible for Kipp to play middle ahead of Campbell or Gates, but that seems unlikely. I don't care about 2020. I'll probably be dead by then.
