I realize that the bottom line is your physical peformance on the court is what wins the game but gettin in the other teams head can also be pretty helpful.
I went to a boys tournament a few years back and I remember teams with really loud benches that were also accompanied by people in the crowd. They would have crazy phrases when their team would get a block, kill or ace and also have some pretty crazy things to say when the opposing team would commit any kind of error. Not those girl type cheers where they all dance around and stuff, but some pretty funny things that would pretty much piss off the other team.
For the ones who are on any high school team or club team, do you guys use any type of chants during games or does it even help?
I play on a HS team that really isnt that spirited and after seeing some of those teams chant and go all crazy, It made me think that maybe it can work for us too
Thanks.
PS, if you dont do this kind of thing or if you look down upon this, there is no need dont bash me. I realize some of you people here are ballers and have pretty tuned in teammates and really dont need this method to succeed.

You should come to a Long Beach State volleyball game bro... Our team has a lot of interesting things that our boys do when we ROOF, or when we get a big kill... Like picking up one team mate as a group, facing him down and jumping, and other related actions... When we get a big roof, our boys do a "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH - BI*CH!!!" while jumping in a circle team formation/huddle... They do lead chants as well... During the beginning of the year, there was our usual "L-B - (Clap clap) L-B- (clap clap)" and related chants... The crowd in the Pyramid is best known during our women's games (the girls on the bench participate as well) for our signature "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEACH!!!!!!! LONG - BEACH - STATE!!!" chant when the other team serves... The "GOOOOOOO" part is for when the server is getting ready to serve... the "BEACH" part is for when he/she makes contact with the ball to serve... and "LONG - BEACH - STATE" is when the ball comes back over to our side (LONG for the bump, BEACH for the set, STATE for the hit, and so on)... Spirit on the bench is fun... GO BEACH!!!
