Hard to believe Filho would transfer. She only has one year left.
Also wouldn't think Tabberson would want to go, not after the way she finished the season.

do any top 10 schools have scholarship availability for 2011? I believe Minnesota does. And, yes, Brittany Hewitt would be welcome here.

PS. I would not be surprised if Love, Tabberson and Filho transfers. (I thought they might prior to Mike's resignation) Just curious as to why you would pick out those three? I really can't think of a reason for any of them to leave other than the coaching change. I could see Haugen going elsewhere, just because of her limited playing time behind Dixon and Filho.

Why would a coach leave OSU for Minnesota? Because Ohio State doesn't care about volleyball.

Love: Never looked really happy being on the court. Then the push to have her play with a broken bone, right after surgery, and when she was ill(and on IVs) showed winning a league game was more important than her career and well being. Tabberson: Being put in the middle of that setter controversy coupled with the rumor of the incoming freshman being the starter next year. Filho: Find a setter/program that could set her. The gopher setters couldn't set her quick high attack style. Texas, Cal and Washington are examples of how a quick MB is utilized. Maybe the incoming setter can set a quick middle attack.

What about previous Gopher assistants who went on to head coaching positions? Your thoughts please? You mean Dave Boos and Brian Heffernan? Thank you. Yes those two.

While I think there are extremes that shouldn't be visited with regards to playing injured/sick players, this is basically a job, one for which they are compensated well, as much as we like to think it isn't. They are not always (ever?) going to be 100% on game day. Sometimes (always?) they have to play through the illness and/or injuries.
It is not an easy job.

Can't see Boos getting another head coaching gig so quick when the last one didn't work out too well. Heffernan has a little more distance from his, but I don't know that he'd get a real good look.

Besides the Penn State game where she was sick, and maybe the Illinois game right after she had surgery. I though Tabi played with a lot of fire, a lot more then last year at least. Check her pictures on Gophersports she looks pretty happy to me. Also if she wasn't ready to play I believe the coaching staff would have set her. Remember in the tournament 2 years ago when Dieter was injured and was warming up on the bike, but Mike didn't play her. The next day in the paper he said something like I had to think about it as if she were my daughter. Instead he played Cowles who was recruited to be a defensive specialist. My point is if Tabi wasn't ready or didn't want to play I don't think she would have. As for leaving Minnesota I don't see that either. It seems in the last 2 years these girls have had great chemistry. Which is one of the reason I think they made it to the Final 4 last year and the Sweet 16 this year. Most teams who don't decide on a setter until the last month of the season don't even see the post season. If I were to pick a player to leave it would be Nucci. With Tabberson earning the spot at the end, and the best high school setter coming in, i don't see her ever seeing the court next season.
