I know I know, this is a vb board. Take my football post elsewhere. Hey I happen to like both sports. Here's the latest - msn.espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0127/1499550.htmlI was shocked when they said he was staying in late Dec, to me he shouda been canned a long time ago. Now he's fired. What took them so long? Mariucci?

If the Lions organization wants to improve, they should relieve Matt Millen of his position, a New coach isn't going to help the Lions. the problem is in the front office.
The Lions NEED MICK HALEY!

Millen wants/likes Steve Mariucci! Gruden to the Forty Niners? Gruden is staying put in Tampa, But the 49ers do want current Bucs defensive coordinator Monty Kiffin as their new D coordinator.

I never understood bringing in O/D coordinators. I guess you want to get the next up and coming hot coach, but there are so may experienced head coaches stuck in college or with crappy teams out there, who usually got stuck with someone else's mess. You would think they would get the chance to build a program.
VOLLEYBALL TIE IN:
It's like how all the major colleges (Pacific, Texas, etc.) seem to bring up their assistant coaches rather than some great coached at marginal programs with no recruiting pull (Erbe for exaple). Then again, who wants to go to Detroit.
