Listen to the announcers' reactions.

Non-story. The announcers had no idea at the time what actually happened - nobody did until after the game. If the clip above had run another 30 seconds, it would have shown they replayed the fall one more time, and the same announcers immediately expressed concern for the fan. Blaming the two TV guys for being insensitive when 99% of the people in the stadium, including them, had no clue there was an injury, much less a fatality, is manufactured outrage.

Word is that the guy died of a heart attack after he'd already been taken out of the stadium.
In the stadium, he was conversant with no indication that his life was in jeopardy. Reports are that both of his arms were splinted and held up in the air. I'm wondering if the position of his arms could have triggered the heart attack.

Yeah, witnesses say that while being put on the stretcher and being taken out he conscious and yelling for someone to get his 6 year old son who was by himself. Hamilton (who threw the ball) and a reliever in the A's bullpen (who had the best view when it came to actual players) were both noticeably shaken up after the game learning that the fan had eventually died. I can't imagine how bad the young son is doing right now...I have a lot of sympathy for him.

I read the ball was thrown into the stands by a player? Imagine how that poor guy feels. Also heard he was conscious, but "coded" on the way to the hospital and died of blunt force trauma to the head from the fall with his 6-year-old son watching the whole thing - the fall, and also from the front seat of the ambulance. What a sad, sad, situation.

One of the saddest stories of the year.
