This is a special contest to pick what 8 teams will be in the MPSF Tournament...I've already posted this on the "home stretch" thread. WHO ARE YOUR 8 PICKS FOR THE MPSF? This WILL NOT take the place of our weekly contests, it's just a FUN competition on the season ending results... Okay Fans... I made 6 minor changes in my previous post a few weeks ago. My season-ending predictions are as follows: VBCrusin My MPSF final season predictions: (1) Pepperdine 20-2 (2) Hawaii 17-5 (3) Brigham Young 16-6 (4) Pacific 15-7 (5) Northridge 14-8 (6) Stanford 13-9 (7) UC-Irvine 11-11 (8) Long Beach 10-12 (9) UCLA 9-13 (10) UC-Santa Barbara 5-17 (11) USC 2-20 (12) UC-San Diego 1-21 If my predictions are correct...that would leave UCLA out in the cold. Now it's your turn...who are your season-ending finishers?

My predictions are pretty much the same as your top eight:
1 Pepperdine 2 Hawai`i 3 Brigham Young 4 Pacific 5 Northridge 6 Stanford 7 Long Beach 8 UC Irvine
I think Long Beach will move in front of UC Irvine because Irvine seems to be in a slump right now.

Here are my predictions: 1. Pepperdine 2. BYU 3. Hawaii 4. Pacific 5. Northridge 6. Stanford 7. UCI 8. Long Beach St.
I am also going to predict that UCLA will LOOSE to USC on Wednesday night in the box. That, along with a loss to Pepperdine would eliminate them from post season play, 10 wins will not get you in this year. This just shows how competitive the MPSF has gotten over the years. Way to go...

This is how I see it breaking down....
Pepperdine 19-3...Pepp and BYU split Hawaii 17-5...Hawaii wins the tie-breaker vs. BYU...I think.....help here. BYU 17-5 Stanford 14-8 UC Irvine 12-10....UCI will own the tie-breaker vs all these teams Long Beach 12-10 Pacific 12-10 Northridge 12-10...CSUN is the loser in the tie-breaker format....but still gets in.
UCLA out!...... with a 9-13 record...ouch!
Fantastic season for the MPSF and the fans!

Has there been any other year where the bottom seeds have wins over some of the top seeds? Me thinks there should be a few upsets in the tournament.

well there was ucla's loss in last year's tournament, they were the number 2 seed. maybe that was the beginning of parity in the mpsf?

Let me try my luck on this one: W means a Win, the team after the W is the losing team; conversely, the L means a Loss and the team after the L is the winning team.
1. Pepperdine, 16-2 W UCLA W UCI W BYU L BYU Final: 19-3
2. BYU, 16-4 L Pepperdine W Pepperdine Final: 17-5
3. Hawaii 13-5 W UCSB W UCSB W USC W USC Final: 17-5
4. UC-Irvine, 10-8 L Pepperdine W USC W Pacific W Stanford Final: 13-9
5. LBSU, 9-9 W Pacific W Stanford W CSU Northridge W UCSB Final: 13-9
6. Pacific, 10-7 L LBSU W UCSD W Stanford L UC-Irvine L UCLA Final: 12-10
7. CSU-Northridge, 11-9 L LBSU W UCSD Final: 12-10
8. UCLA, 8-10 W USC L Pepperdine W Stanford W Pacific Final: 11-11
9. Stanford, 9-8 L LBSU W UCSD L Pacific L UCLA L UC-Irvine Final: 10-12
10. UCSB, 4-14 L Hawaii L Hawaii L LBSU W UCSD Final: 5-17
11. USC, 2-16 L UCLA L UC-Irvine L Hawaii L Hawaii Final: 2-20
12. UCSD, 1-17 L Pacific L Stanford L CSU-Northridge L UCSB Final: 1-21
If UCLA beats Stanford and Pacific in their homecourt, the Bruins will make it to the Tourney, that is if Stanford loses also at the Beach, at Pacific and at Irvine, which is more likely.
