Chris Tamas, a 6-5 senior setter for sixth-ranked University of the Pacific (16-10, 10-7 MPSF), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II Men's National Player of the Week for leading the Tigers to a sweep of top-ranked Pepperdine. Tamas recorded 55 assists against the Waves and helped four Tigers to double-digit kills behind a .405 team hitting percentage. He added four block assists and two digs in the victory. Tamas registered 37 assists, four digs and two block assists in a 3-0 win over Southern California in the next outing, in which four teammates recorded nine or more kills. On the week, UOPfs career assist leader (4,787) led the Tigers to an average team hitting percentage of .359. Tamas averaged 15.33 assists per game, 1.73 assists per game above his current season average (13.60).

Really well deserved POW ! ! ! ! ! He made the difference in the Pepperdine game . There isn't any other setter in the country that sets his middles as high as Tamas does and he does it every time.
