Can't answer for Mary, but that's his base. He makes (and pays his assistants some portion of it) about the same in camps every year. It also doesn't reflect his car, speaking and apparel contracts which are above and beyond that. I don't believe that's accurate, but I hope it is, he more than deserves it. I'd be more than happy to be wrong on this.

The Sacramento bee website reports data from the California state controller's office, which is limited to general funds and some other special funds, but does not include funds paid through the university foundation or alumni association, which are the most common sources of additional payments to coaches. In this sense, that is the "base pay" because that is the salary upon which pensions are based. Many perks, like cars, memberships, camps, etc are run through an independent university foundation, although at many UC campuses the camps are run through the state because of the state facilities involved.

Also, some of the reported salary figures may be based on the required NCAA income disclosure form which all coaches must submit. That figure would include all sources of income, including salary, camps and contracts.

There are two surveys- assistant coach and head coach. You must participate in the survey in order to receive the survey information. Participation has been an issue with assistants in the past.

Below DI, I believe it is just one survey that has info about HC and assistants. Also, you only get the survey you participate in. So If you are a DII coach, you don't get the DI survey results.

Wow- Ron Larsen got a $30,000 raise in 2010 at UC Riverside. Interesting. Maybe it came from the pay cut Kathy took? Does Paula Weishoff still draw a salary at Irvine while with the National Team? Would be interested to know what Andy's salary was when he retired.
