I'm watching a replay of the Fenerfahce match...what's up with Logan Tom not playing/starting? I'm only in the first set and saw someone mentioned above she did have a few points but I'm shocked that she isn't starting. Are they just giving her some rest or is she not their best option? Tom is 100% a better option than Seda. Tom just joined the team, and is probably getting adjusted. I predict by the CL Final 4, we'll see Tom and Kim outside with Sokolova playing oppo. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pull the libero and have those three pass.

In this match alone, Fenerbahce was experimenting with different options at reception: - Kim and Sokolova as receiving-outside hitters along with libero - Tom as a receiving-opposite receives for Kim anytime they're together front row or backrow - Libero for libero substutition -- One libero for passing (Merve), one libero for defense (Nihan) - At one point in the match, Fenerbahce found themselves with 4 players in receiving formation. Tom promptly moved out of the formation with a cheeky smile towards the coaches. I guess, why not try using Kim-Sokolova-Tom as receivers, too

Akinradewo's team will play in CEV cup, not in the champions league.

Klineman's offense has looked very good but I have seen her shank more than a few balls on serve receive. I wonder where she stands in terms of the National Team. Obviously she isn't taking Tom or Larson's spots for 2012, but does she have a chance at being a starter in 2016? I always thought her shoulder wouldn't hold up, and that still remains to be seen, but it looks like she actually has more power now than she ever did at Stanford.

Larson, Hodge, and Barboza will still be in their physical primes by the time 2016 rolls around as long as they stay motivated, so they'll still be the frontrunners I'd imagine. Klineman would definitely have a shot, she'd probably battling this year's senior class like Alex Jupiter and Tarah Murrey in that next tier.

by the time 2016, Larson will be 30 and Barboza will be 29. I will not say they are in the physical primes. Klineman definitely has the chance to be a starter if she improved her ball control skills.

You mean about the same age as Logan Tom and Lyndsey Berg now, or younger than Heather Bown, Stacy Sykora, Tayyiba Haneef-Park, Nancy Metcalf, and Danielle Scott-Aruda? Half our team including starters are about that age or older. These are elite athletes. If they keep training, stay injury-free, they'll be more than physically capable to perform and win at that level.

Is it typical for european leagues to use a different ball than the CEV ball (which is lighter)?
