If I'm not mistaken, CEV Champions league uses the Olympic ball (Mikasa MVA 200).

Leagues negotiate their own contracts with volleyball suppliers. Some use Mikasa (Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Switzerland) while others (Italy, Spain) use Molten. Both brands have released balls using the FLISTATEC technology design.


The volleyballs get more varied outside of Europe, with some leagues incorporating different colors into the ball's design. Same thing with weight. If you find yourself watching a rally where that ball just won't go down, you might have tuned into a Japanese match -- they use a lighter Molten ball to increase rallies.

Chinese league uses the Mikasa. I tuned into a Korean match and found myself staring at an orange-yellow-white volleyball.



I used to wonder if European teams whose league uses the same Mikasa ball as champions league have an advantage since they're used to the ball. But since Molten released their own version using similar Flistatec technology, I don't think about it anymore.

Probably Puerto Rico if she's starting in January. Most pro teams are set by now elsewhere.

It wasn't loaded last I check. Pesaro's website has points though. Ortolani 20, Klineman 16, Brinker 10

And I see Pesaro has discovered the trick of running her a 32 in transition. I don't recall seeing a lot of European teams using that play, so it could be very effective for her.

Fenerbahce won the 4th set 25-4! Unbelievable in a professional volleyball league. I know Fenerbahce is completely loaded, but that's absolutely ridiculous to get beat that badly. I even clicked the stats link you provided to make sure it wasn't a typo.

Why do we think Logan isn't playing? Ze Roberto can't still be "resting" her.

No reason to put her out there if they keep winning easily. She can remain as a sub, but the other wing spikers they have are all 3-4 inches taller than her and they aren't really having much trouble with reception. I'd be interested to see Tom try playing the libero spot for a few matches as that seems to be the team's biggest weakness.
