Northridge then took advantage of back-to-back hitting Lancer hitting errors to build its lead to 19-15. Cal Baptist cut the lead to one at 20-19, 25-24 and 26-25 but the Matadors held on for another 30-27 win.

Cal Baptist battled back to tie the score 26-26 after a pair of Lancers teamed up to block Kneubuhl but a Ralph Asmar service error and Baliaba hitting error gave the Matadors the cushion they needed in taking the game 30-27 and the match 3-0.
