If you use Rich Kern's site, he is updating RKPI on a daily basis, This is not correct. The last time I updated was Monday and that was based on all the results up through Sunday. I will update again tomorrow night after all the matches are complete but will post it here only and not on my website.

Not sure what to think of Baylor. They're 7th out of 9 in the BigXII. I'd like to see the top 6 from the BigXII make it in, but leave Baylor and Kansas out. I'd like to see more emphasis put on conference records, not just RPI.

Yoda, but there is no RPI impact from a non-D1 team, right? It wouldn't seem logical to play a D2 or D3 team with a gaudy record and let that bump their RPI.
So UCSB beat San Diego State today and TCU defeated Pitt, setting up what I still feel could be a play in game tomorrow between UCSB and TCU.
Ohio State beating Michigan... if there was any doubt about OSU their really shouldn't be anymore.
Ohio defeated Cincy. Ohio still shouldn't be on the board but it could nudge the relative RPI's of the MAC schools vs the Big East schools compared to what is in Monday's RPKI, and I'd imagine its a psychological nudge to the committee members.
As for the make up of conferences, it shouldn't matter, however where the SEC and MoVal combined for 5 teams each recently, they may combine for 5 this year. Those spots are going somewhere and with Central Michigan taking the AQ, and UNI being a lock the MAC sets up well to benefit.
I like St. Mary's chances, though playing Seattle tomorrow will lower their RPI.
And in results unreated to the bubble, does Cal beating Stanford A) mean they are both seeded B) Put Cal in Stanfords seed C) mean that neither will be seeded or D) it doesn't change anything?

I'd like to see more emphasis put on conference records, not just RPI. Don't think I agree. Beating 4 top 50 teams and going 7-9 in a Big conference is much more significant than going 12-4 with no top 50 wins in a smaller conference. The goal should be to get the better teams in the tourney. Not better records.

Are you talking about Baylor? Baylor is 5-10 in conference, and could improve to 6-10 by beating KU. And if you're including KU as one of the 4 top 50 teams Baylor's beat, I don't give that much credit. KU should not be in the top 50 of anything.

No. I'm talking about your comment on conference records and how it's misleading.
Also, top 50 is top 50 regardless of how you feel.

A lot of teams being thrown into the mix for at-larges, but if you are adding a TCU or UCSB, that means you are not taking a team with a much better RPI and that would go against recent committee tradition. I do believe teams in the 50's could / should definitely get picked over teams in the 30's this year.

Baylor is 4-10 against top 50, so they are probably safely in. TCU's best win is 3-0 against Baylor and a win today against UCSB could be significant in getting one of those last three bids.

Look at Ohio State's Team Sheet. I don't see this impressing the committee. Just sayin. 2-11 vs. top 25, 3-12 vs. top 50, and 6-14 vs. top 100 RPI. The Buckeyes are 13-0 vs. RPI teams over 124.

If you compare Ohio State's team sheet to some of the others they are competing against for the last 5 to 6 spots, they are safely in

Agree. Ohio St has 5 top 50 wins. They are in. Anyone below 50 with 3 or more top 50 wins would be likely in.

Here is my wishful thinking. It divides up conferences so that they do not meet until at least regional finals.
Minnesota Regional USC (#1 Seed, host first round) Tulsa Northern Colorado Duke (at large)
Minnesota (#4 seed, host first round) ND State UW Milwaukee Marquette (at large)
Purdue (#2 seed, host first round) Western Kentucky Sacred Heart Central Michigan
Tennessee (#3 seed, host first round) Oregon State (at large) Morehead State Liberty
Kentucky Regional Nebraska (#1 Seed, host first round) Kansas State (at large) Delaware Niagra
Stanford (#4 Seed, host first round) Cincinatti Dayton Ball State (at large)
Kentucky (#3 Seed, host first round) Michigan (at large) Lipscomb American
University of Northern Iowa (#2 Seed, host first round) Washington (at large) Oklahoma (at large) Clemson (at large)
Florida Regional Penn State (#2 seed, host first round) Florida (at large) Albany Yale
Florida State (#3 seed, host first round) Oregon (at large) Jacksonville State Samford (at large)
Cal (at large) (#4 seed, host first round) Pepperdine Texas A&M (at large) St. Mary's (at large)
Iowa State (#1 seed, host first round) Ohio State (at large) Louisville (at large) Western Michigan (at large)
Hawaii Regional Illinois (#1 seed, host first round) Miami (at large) Northern Illinois Missouri (at large)
UCLA(#4 seed, host first round) San Diego (at large) Long Beach State Eastern Shore
Texas (#2 seed, host first round) Michigan State (at large) Colorado State Texas State (at large)

I love that situation laxlga. Ohio State can handle Western Michigan, Louisville and ISU.

If Florida isn't going to host, they are going to FSU - they will not fly them north and then fly someone else into FSU. Oh, and Dayton, Cincinnati and Ball St are NOT all flying to Stanford. I think that's enough to blow up your bracket so I'll stop there. Unfortunately there is a budget for this tournament.
