Marc Honore, a 6-6 senior middle blocker for Saint Francis University (Pa.) has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week for his outstanding play last week against Rutgers-Newark and George Mason. Against the Scarlet Raiders, Honore knocked down 18 kills, committing only one error for a .773 hitting percentage, while also scoring seven aces and five total blocks in the three-game sweep. He followed that up with a 21-kill, .643-hitting performance in a 3-1 win over George Mason. He also added two aces and six total blocks in the victory. For the week, Honore averaged 5.57 kills, a .700 hitting percentage, 1.29 aces and 1.57 blocks per game. This is only the second time that a men's volleyball player from Saint Francis (Pa.) has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Player of the Week award; Honore also won the award on February 27, 2006. The Red Flash is coached by Mike Rumbaugh.

Good to see someone other than an mpsf player get this award, even though he was awarded for playing against unranked teams like rutgers and george mason... which kind of defeats the purpose, but still. Well done, anybody with that kind of week deserves some sort of recognition.

.700 hitting average isn't too bad. That's a solid grade of C-
