In 40 minutes NJIT(New Jesey Institue of Technology) will be playing against CSUN. CSUN should win this match but if they don't watch and are looking forward to this weekend's match against Hawai'i they might just lose it. Last four matches I've seen CSUN play they were solid and consistent even with different lineups in each match. I look forward to seeing them be aggressive, focused and take command in each game and win tonight's match in three. I look forward to seeing outside hitters DAN RHODES and ERIC VANCE if those two are on CSUN will be getting lotsa points which makes the opposition key on them forgetting all about JEFF LISCHER and the ever improving KYLE WAITE who are the starting mb's. Too bad about ALI'I the starting libero for CSUN - he's out for the season. Ali'i you did a great job playing for CSUN this year - gonna miss you seeing you on the court. Good luck Matadors!

From the CSUN website:
Matadors Dominate NJIT in 30-17, 30-18, 3018 Win
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Sophomore Eric Vance pounded a match-high 16 kills to lead eighth-ranked Cal State Northridge to a 30-17, 30-18, 30-18 victory over visiting New Jersey Institute of Technology on Wednesday at The Matadome.
With the win, the Matadors claim their fifth consecutive victory and improve to 13-9. The loss drops the Highlanders to 12-6 on the season.
Vance had one of the best matches of his young career knocking down his match-high 16 kills while committing just one hitting error in 21 swings for a .714 hitting clip. Freshman Mike Gaudino also hit well posting a .600 hitting percentage (seven kills and one error in 10 attacks) and served up a career-high five aces. In limited duty, Dan Rhodes added six kills (.308) and Kyle Waite also chipped in six kills (.714).
Northridge had just five hitting errors in the match as the Matadors hit a season-high .588. Northridge also posted a season-high 12 aces, just four off the school record.
For NJIT, Leonardo Paludo knocked down a team-high 11 kills but hit just .182. Amobi Armstrong (.067) and Greg Wagner (.750) each added six kills for the Highlanders, who hit just .081 as a team with 29 kills and 23 errors in 74 swings. Armstrong also tallied a team-high five digs in the loss.
After NJIT took a brief 2-1 lead in game one, Gaudino served seven straight points giving Northridge an 8-2 lead. The Matador lead grew to eight points (14-6) following a Vance ace and swelled to as many as 13 (24-11) after a Sean Pedersen kill. The Highlanders got as close as 28-18 before a Charles Bell service error and a Kevin McKniff gave the Matadors game one 30-18.
NJIT held the lead for the first 11 points of game two before the Matadors drew even at 6-6 on a McKniff ace. With Northridge on top 9-7, the Matadors won four of the next six points to open up a 13-9 cushion. The Highlanders battled back to within 15-12 following a Eduardo Welter kill but Northridge took advantage of five hitting errors over the next eight points to boost the lead back to 22-13 capped by a Gaudino kill.
Game three saw the Matadors hold a slim 11-10 lead before three Vance kills combined with three Highlander hitting errors gave Northridge an 18-12 cushion. NJIT got within five (18-13) but the Matadors pulled away down the stretch to claim the game 30-18 and the match 3-0.
Cal State Northridge returns to MPSF action this weekend as the Matadors travel to No. 14 Hawai'i for single matches on Friday and Saturday.

pretty much NJIT was just a waste of time...i mean i give them credit for playing but man i know it would be really hard for me to be on a team like that and come out here and play some MPSF teams...but great serving by CSUN...hopefully they keep it up
