Had the opportunity to be at NBA All Star weekend in Orlando. Best all star weekend in professional sports. Great atmosphere and best basketball players on the planet. Although I could have done without so much hip hop / rap for the entertainment! Mary J Blige singing of the national anthem was superb.
Great to see Texas' Kevin Durant as the MVP!
Game will be in Texas next February at the Toyota Center in Houston!

I think they should retire the slam dunk contest, unless Blake Griffin decides to come out of slam dunk retirement. That was lame. Three point shooting contest was very cool. I even liked the rookies game. Lots of showing off.

Maybe they should have a dunk contest where the dunker is being defended? Hey! They could have 5 guys on each side, play full court, keep score ...
Oh, wait.

Also used in the NCAA and all international competitions. Good rule, too.

I am not a big NBA fan but I went to parts of the 1997 NBA All Star Weekend in Cleveland. The fan convention for it was really fun and was the highlight for me. They had NBA Jam TE tournaments, a booth to record your own commentary over classic games, different skill challenges, an inflated basketball court, etc.

Did you see in the actual game where john Wall stopped, and tried to lob himself the ball for an alley oop? After the ball bounced someone picked it off. Hey, and Dwayne Wade played some defense on Kobe. Sillies thing was the "Celebrity" game. The star of the game was the Secretary of Education. Really? The "winning dunk" what pretty good though. He got 2 balls toss din the air, jumped, grabbed them, and dunked them. Much better than Griffin jumping over a car.

Ask Kobe if the game was physical?
The East players got mad in the 4th quarter and did not allow any more free dunks.
The NBA knows how to run an all star weekend.
Hope to make it to Houston next year.
