Aaron THINKS he is 6'2"...but it's more like an honest 6'. He probably jump touches around 11'.

So does he play well and is he a threat when playing against other teams? I am almost the same size as him, touch the same possibly a little higher, but im still in HS. I was wondering if he does well against the dominant teams such as Pepp, Hawaii, Long Beach, Irvine, etc. Please post back. Thanks

Sam
I think u can play in the MPSF, I'm just not sure if you'd be a libero or an OH. Do me a favor...sign up as an official member of this forum and I'll get you some more info via private message.

You can be small and still have an impact on the outside.
Donnie Rafter wasn't any taller than 6'2" and he made second team all-american on the outside. Monte Tucker's about the same height and doing a good job for uci at the outside this year. Aaron definetely plays well against good teams and can more than hold his own. Pacific is 4th in the MPSF, that meant winning games against big teams.
Small guy's can be good, but you have be smart. You can't go over the block, so learn to tip, rollshot, go off the hands, but still remember to hammer the ball when they give you an opening, keeps 'em on their toes.
The main problem isn't always hitting though, its also blocking. Its a lot harder for you to make up those inches when you're on defense. Fortunately, most hitters in men's volleyball are dumb as a rock. When they see a small blocker they think its a good time to show off and hit the ball straight down. Which they do, straight down into the block.
