I'll never understand how people can NOT like The Boss's music.

Because he's changed from musician to left-wing ideologue?
NPR.org => mute button.

Because he's changed from musician to left-wing ideologue? NPR.org => mute button. Being a musician is not mutually exclusive from having an opinion about things. In fact most art does express an opinion about something.

Funny, the biggest Springsteen fans I know are conservatives, and the most liberal of my friends can't stand him.
I've never been a fan of his music (other than his first two albums), but I've always found him a self-aware, interesting and self-deprecating guy - did anyone see his cameo on Fallon dressed as 1975 Bruce?

I'll never understand how people can NOT like The Boss's music. Maybe because it isn't very good.

All his songs sound the same in concert plus he does not sing, he yells.

Just putting it out there. You are missing a great speech about pop music, what it means to him specifically, and a very funny trip through some great tunes if you choose not to partake, like some close minded ideologue, which I am sure none of you are.

I like Brucie. But I didn't start liking him until the song Glory Days came out.
When I think of Brucie, I also think of John Cougar Mellencamp. Yeah, just thought I share that with you people, since I was thinking of Brucie.

Does anyone still use the "Cougar" for John?
Anyhow. I remember when Newsweek and Time, the same week, both had Bruce on their covers. 1975, people. 1975. That's when the backlash started.
Can't sing? Ha! Not only can he sing, he can write.

Can't sing? Ha! Not only can he sing, he can write. Are you describing Bob Dylan also? Bruce and Bob cannot sing, but yes, they can write wonderful lyrics.

Dylan can sing. It's not a great voice in terms of strength or tone, but it's his and it's musical. That's all it takes.
For me, obviously.
Someone like Whitney Houston? Great voice. But she was a show-off and had nothing to say that was worth really listening to. Give me Dylan or Lucinda Williams or ... any day. Someone who's singing something worth singing.

Like saying singer of this song can't sing:
