I'm tired of swimming. Do they really need to show every heat of every stroke? There's no side stroke/dog paddle events, right? They still have the distance swims-ugh. They cut away for archery/taekwondo highlights for 80% of the distance swims at least.

They just covered the last 20 seconds, I'm not kidding, of Kayla Harrison's gold medal match in Judo, followed by several minutes of flag waving and celebrations. Think they'll show the rest of the match, along with all the points scored, in prime time?

Interesting how they out on their Freddy Kruger masks for the corners, which aren't taken in the corner.

Seriously some of the posters venting in this thread is getting ridiculous...you are getting upset just because they aren't showing more volleyball...keep in mind this is the olympics not just the volleyball olympics...I'm sure there are millions of other fans out there that are enjoying all the swimming, gymnastics and other sports being covered...remember all those athletes also have families and friends that are enjoying their loved ones in the spotlight...
I for one am a diehard volleyball fan, but I also have been enjoying all the other sports...just keep it real seriously the olympics isn't just focused on volleyball it is for all sports...just be happy all the US volleyball games are being shown on tv...it's more than we can say about ESPN showing NCAA volleyball on tv!
All of you that are dogging NBC...I'm sure no other network that would broadcast the Olympics would do a better job than what NBC is doing! they are providing us all a service by allowing us to watch all these great athletes participate in the olympics rather than us just being able to read it or watch it through the news media!
Just be happy that volleyball is part of the olympic coverage!

Seriously some of the posters venting in this thread is getting ridiculous...you are getting upset just because they aren't showing more volleyball... Not really the complaint. The decision for artificial scarcity during prime time in order to jack up advertising rates obviously creates a crunch when it comes to coverage - clearly any volleyball coverage relegated to prime time will be truncated. What they were rightly criticized for was yanking scheduled coverage, and interrupting live streaming, without notice or explanation.

The first half hour of prime time used to take about the 1996 women's gymnastics? ? Total crap.

Stupidity by the people complaining. The women don't even have rings as one of their events. The ad was certainly pre-programed. And while I'm aware of the long and sordid history of racists referring to dark-skinned people as monkeys, at some point you have to understand that the only people making that connection here were actually the people complaining about the ad.

I'm not at all puzzled by the reasons TV executives and audiences love the girls' gymnastics competition. Can you really blame them? That part where Rue befriends Katniss and they're on the same team even though we know only one can get the Gold -- it's such an enchanting drama!

It's 7:34pm PT. prime time tv. They have shown the last half, of game 2, USA vs Serbia game. Now it's swimming but after commercial they will pick the game up. With so many commercial. Now I'm pissed. Will the whole last game be on? Doubt it.

In one full hour NBC managed to cover maybe 3/4's of a volleyball set - that was it. They covered NOTHING else.
At first, because they came into the volleyball match 2/3's into the second set, I thought they were going to show more of the women's than they had of the men's match. Not!

YES!
NBC sucks. They have a dedicated soccer channel, and a dedicated basketball channel! But start off volleyball in set 3?!
They suck.
