UCI is no fluke. They are solid in all facets. Hitting. Setting. Serving. Defense. Coaching. And intensity.
The upcoming series against Hawaii will be played in the Bren center, (thank God), and I think I heard it's free admission if you wear a Hawaii'n shirt. Can someone from UCI give us the accurate scoop on what's happening?

What is happening is that UCI finally has a coach who truly understands the game and how it should be played. UCI has the same players they had last year, minus a couple of starters, add a new coach, and whala a winning program. Speraw in his first year as a head coach is doing a tremendous job! Keep up the good work Speraw and UCI :

Sorry. What I meant by "What's happening?" is what is the schedule and the promotion details for the Hawaii two game series?
I just checked the UCI site and this is what is published for Hawaii: --------------------------------------------- SCHEDULE CHANGES:
January 31 - UCI vs. Hawaii is now in the Bren Events Center at 7:00 p.m.
February 1 - UCI vs Hawaii is now at 5:00 p.m. on Crawford Hall
Please note that due to construction around Crawford Court attendance is limited to 700 fans. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. Sorry for the inconvience. --------------------------------------------- Too bad the Saturday game is in such a small Crawford Hall. I think there would be much more than 700.

Crawford Hall is an embarassment to the Big West! It was nearly standing room only last night as it appeared that many students left the baseball game(they were apparently playing Baseball last nigh as well) and filed into the VB Match, some well into the 2nd game. According to their announcer(very obnoxious fellow I might add, PA way way too loud) they let anyone in free on all Saturday night matches! If they do it for the UH matches are they on Saturday night? Just curious. BTW, they played a very solid match last night. 1st and 3rd games were nip and tuck all the way, but they blew out the Beach in game 2. They are kind of short, but they block real taaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllll!! Last night they served awesome and their passing was superb! I can't wait until we get them in the Pyramid as I expect the results to change, but take nothing I mean nothing away from UCI, they are damned good!!
GOOOOOOOO BEACH!

I sat directly behind that fellow and whitnessed nothing that should have caused him to leave. It was at a point where it was getting to be standing room, and people were sitting in the red "do not sit" areas. He came in and sqeezed in between two of his friends who didn't mind and the next thing I see is what seemed to be an over zealous official telling him to leave. He refused to leave and the official summoned the campus cops. I almost told them to lighten up, but didn't. The player returned about 10 minutes later and sat right back where he was before. Go figure.

Great job defeating Beach UCI, you were clearly the better team. You are looking to be the "real deal" can't wait for the Hawaii matches this weekend.
