For all the doubters who didn't think Britain would win a match--never underestimate the powers of serpentine seeding!

For all the doubters who didn't think Britain would win a match--never underestimate the powers of serpentine seeding! Actually modified serpentine seeding where the #8 seed (world #69!) is given the #1 overall seed because they are the host so Pool A has the #7 and #8 seeds, while Pool B has the #1 and #2 seeds. But hey, it was fun to watch Janine Sandell go off on the Algerians!

One more victory and then could face USA in the quarters! Dominican going down. Would be the most one sided contest since Battle of New Orleans.

Their only hope to make it to the next round would be to upset Japan in the final match in pool play and hope that Algeria (winless and swept by everyone except Great Britain) somehow finds a way to beat the Dominican Republic. There are going to be a lot of fans cheering for Algeria at that match. ;D

The up official usually calls it on her backsets/ slides. The Dominican Republic handled Britain easily, and they are going to handle Algeria easily tonight. Great Britain coach praised Brenda Castillo after the game. The Dominican libero had Sandell's number (who went off against Algeria). That being said, I liked watching Great Britain play and I hope they become increasingly competitive.
