Scheduled Tomorrow (August 01) at 20:00H London Time, to be played at Earls Court.
Both teams are undefeated, this should be a tough match for the Americans as the Chinese have played very well (and won) against Serbia and Turkey.

How is Wang doing (I think that's her name, the big OH for China)? Sounds like she's recovering from an ankle injury. I watched some of China vs Serbia and she was still getting some nice kills, however, she wasn't jumping high and just looked kind of "klunky" to me... landing awkwardly, slow to get back up. Will she be effective against the American block? Predictions?

Will she be effective against the American block? Predictions? She always looks like that. More of a bulldozer than finesse. I predict 3-0 for the U.S. We serve too tough for them to run their middles/combo offense, and Wang is a sieve in the back row even when healthy. Logan will have a field day pushing/tipping around her.

Hard to say. China is 2-0, they played Serbia and Turkey, while we are 2-0 over S. Korea and Brasil. No overlaps there.
China has historically been all about the ball handling and quick attacks. They have gotten bigger over the last four years. It should be interesting.

This is a very dangerous match for the US. Wang has shown bits and pieces, but nothing convincing, IMO. Can she jump enough to hit around Foluke and Destinee? We'll see.

For me, China looks better lately because Zhang Lei has played well and consistently in the first two matches.

China's combination plays are just fantastic. USA needs to serve very well to get them out of system. Otherwise, it'll be a very tough battle.

Yes, serving tough will be key. I also think if Berg can get the middles going on offense early and diversifies our attack it'll prove a bit much. China isn't very quick at the net, so if we're a little unpredictable we'll keep their block porous. I'm sure Tom and Larson are ready to use more finesse too, make their hitters move their feet when in the back row.
Could be a sweep, could be a tough 5, not sure how salty China will really be. Fairly confident we win regardless of actual details.

It's hard to say. 1996: China 2000: USA 2004: China 2008: USA 2012: ? Very disturbing pattern. In all the last matchups, the underdog won and this time USA is the favorite, does it mean an upset?

I don't think you can call the 2004 Chinese team an underdog, at least not by traditional standards. They won the the WGP gold and silver in 2003 and 2002. They also won the 2003 World Cup. USA may have had the better ranking but going into the OG China was definitely among the gold medal contenders.
