Thanks, BeiBei. But those videos are blocked for people behind the "great firewall of USA". Sorry to hear that. Likewise those who are not in the USA are blocked from watching anything live from NBC. Win some lose some

Very painful for the Chinese too. Wang Yimei, Wei (setter), Ma (MB), Xu (MB), Zhang Xian (Libero) will all be retiring after London. Wang Yimei is just 24 or 25, but she has taken enough swings for a lifetime She's actually 26 / 27. In fact, the 5 Chinese players that are retiring all have faked their age.

Sorry to be naive, but what benefit to they get by faking their age?
And how do you know they faked their ages?

Sorry to be naive, but what benefit to they get by faking their age? And how do you know they faked their ages? Age fabrication is very common among Chinese athletes. In volleyball, the benefit is that they can stay longer in the youth/junior national teams. As to how I know, well I have my sources but unfortunately I am unable to post the links to them.

Sorry to be naive, but what benefit to they get by faking their age? It's common in many sports. Claiming to be younger than you really are allows you to play in age-restricted leagues against younger players, thus making you seem more impressive. In pro sports it can also cause you to get bigger salaries and get drafted higher (if there is a draft). This is because teams will be projecting your performance at 25 or 28 or whatever based on your performance at "20." If you are already 22 instead of 20, those projections will all be too high, leading to them signing you for more money than they would have if they knew your real age.
