I am incredibly happy for Jen and April, despite the fact they went to USC. This is an enormous hurdle for them. After their shock World Championship in 2009, they've won three events in three years, and often struggled with consistency. They only hit the podium once this season (3rd). Being guaranteed a Silver at worst is just fantastic. Last season I questioned why they wanted to play the London Test Event, guess they obviously knew what they were doing.
And I know schadenfreude isn't the most charitable emotion, but Larissa has annoyed me for years, not sorry in the least to see her go down in flames.

haha ok thats what I thought. Good for team moral - imagine her teamed up with the Italian chick who cried half way through the first set of the quarters. Now THAT would have been entertaining. Larissa could make EY cry. She's that mean. P.S. - She might even be able to make Hov cry. She's just that mean. Well, to be fair, EY would have just punched her out.

Honestly, I think China takes them out in two. The pressure on Brazil from their federation and fans to win gold (particularly in the case of Juliana Larissa) is immense. I don't know how they come back and play their A game. Oh, please, pretty please, let the Chinese win bronze! ;D Only reason I might want to root for Brazil is so we can beat China in overall Olympic medals - but thats a tough one haha

break out the stars and stripes bikinis for tomorrow I haven't looked. Is it daytime, so bikinis, or nighttime so we will hear all about Jen's feet again?

And I hope some highlights make it to NBC's primetime coverage. want Brazil to win so that pair has to stand on the podium and look up at the US one last time This. And I don't want the Chinese to medal.

what was hysterical is that after late in game 2 it was Larissa who was making the errors. I dont see Ross and Kessey beat may/walsh. Poise and experience, and they are better defensively.

Poise and experience, and they are better defensively. now that Ross/Kessey are guaranteed a medal, I don't thnk poise/experience will be that big a factor for the gold medal match. I gotta believe they'll pound every single serve and spike in May's direction, but then it's always hard to bet against May-Walsh, particularly May, May has made a lifetime out of being in the right place and making any play possible. Should be a great match.
