Beach's win over CSUN last night was huge for them - probably gets them into the MPSF tournament as they will now most likely finish 11-11 with a win over UCSB.
UCLA lose to Beach on the head-to-head if both finish 11-11, but could make the top 8 at the expense of Irvine... but only if UCLA beat both Pacific and Stanford, and Irvine lose their remaining two matches.
Looks like Speraw might be responsible for dumping Scates out of the postseason in his first season away from UCLA...

With Friday's (4/11 ) win of UCI over Pacific, LBS over UCSB and UCLA's loss to Stanford, UCI and LBS both clinched MPSF playoff berth knocking off UCLA from the playoff for the first time(?) in Al Scate's looooong 41 years UCLA coaching career.
Losing so many games is one thing, missing the playoff and placing 9th in MPSF is really shameful with soooo much talent in his UCLA team.
I hope he will enjoy watching it from outside for a change. ;D

Any program would kill to have their success rate. And if anyone followed their year they'd know (it's well documented) how they were emaciated by injuries that no program could endure. But good luck to whomever you're supporting. I happen to be a fan of another program, but am more a fan of the game, and I don't get a kick out sniping posts. They won't be down for long. |
