In 4.
First game was close, something like 36-34. Irvine took a break the third game and let UOP win, then swept the floor with them for the 4th and final game.

from the UCI website:
UCI DEFEATS PACIFIC, 3-1 TO CLINCH MPSF BERTH (boxscore)
Irvine, CA -- The UC Irvine men's volleyball team, behind 30 kills from junior outside hitter Jimmy Pelzel defeated Pacific, 3-1, (36-34, 27-30, 30-24, 30-20) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) match at Crawford Hall Friday.
The win secures a berth into the MPSF tournament for the Anteaters. It will be the third MPSF tournament appearance for UCI, who improved to 19-9 overall and 12-9 in MPSF play. The 12 league wins sets a school record for most conference wins in a season, surpassing the 11-9 record of 1999.
UCI led 20-16 in game one, but two kills from Tim Jenson and a hitting error by the Anteaters brought UOP back to 20-19. The teams traded points, until a Nic Vislay kill gave UCI match point, 29-27. A kill by Aaron Wachtfogel and another UCI hitting error knotted the score at 29-29. The teams once again ping-ponged back and forth until Vislay pounded another kill at 35-34. A Wachtfogel hitting error ended the game, giving UCI a 36-34 win.
With the scored tied at 27-27 in game two, a UOP hitting error and a David Kniffin service ace gave the Anteaters match point. Wachtfogel again had the burden of a hitting error on game point, as UCI took the second set 30-27.
Game three was all Pacific as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back winning 30-24. UCI returned the favor with a quick 7-2 start in game four. The Tigers could get no closer than five points as UCI took the game 30-20 and the match, 3-1.
The Anteaters were led by Jimmy Pelzel's 30 kills, .522 hitting percentage and match-high six blocks. Freshman Nic Vislay tied his career-high with 15 kills and a .684 (15-2-19) hitting percentage, which is the 12th best mark in a UCI match. Jarett Jensen came off the bench to spark the Anteaters, pounding seven kills, a .667 (7-1-9) hitting performance and three service aces. Monte Tucker added nine kills and David Kniffin recorded 62 set assists in the win.
Wachtfogel paced UOP with 18 kills, while Martin Berntsen had 13 kills and Brian Zodrow had 12 kills. Berntsen and Chris Tamas each had a match-high eight digs. Tamas also added 51 assists.
UCI will close out the regular season, hosting Stanford tomorrow (Apr. 12) in Crawford Hall at 7:00 p.m

Jensen came off the bench and played some awesome volleyball. Hitting great, served great, lots of energy. Hope he can keep it up through the playoffs, which I'm pretty sure were clinched for irvine tonight.
Pelzel had a great game, just hammered the ball over around and through the block, over and over again. Pretty good game all around for UCI. Middles were hitting pretty well, people were blocking, getting digs. Good team effort.
UOP was not so good. Watchtfogel played good, and I still think Tamas is the best setter in the league, but other than that, they seemed pretty weak. No one else performed very well, they missed 2 or 3 serves at the end of the first game when they had it tied up in the thirties.
Can someone explain to me why that kid from hawaii wears sunglasses when he plays?

Sometimes he wears it, sometimes he doesn't. Maybe it is his way of getting his coach's attention. Did he play at Irvine?

the glasses are presciption For what? They're sunglasses, not eyeglasses, unless he didn't want to look like a dork in the goggle like things you usually see people wearing and thought sunglasses looked better. Does he have a weird eye disease or just bad vision?

Well, Pacific is going to Hawaii. It'll be his last time wearing those sunglasses this season!

Last time they came to Hawaii, I asked the guy why he was wearing glasses. he has a high sensitivity to light, so the brighter the arena, the more he needs to wear the glasses. Thats why he only wears them sometimes. And yes, they are prescription. I think he said theyre created so they can stay on his face while moving around a lot

Adam Catania, the Pacific player in question, was born without his sclera in his left eye. After numerous procedures and optic chiasma training, Adam has regained full vision in his eye. Due to these procedures, Adam has become "alergic" in a sense to bright lights. The nature of volleyball requires that Adam look upward and sometimes directly into the bright lights of the gymnasium or stadium. The presecription glasses do not allow for the harmful light to enter Adam's retinas. Contact lenses or surgery are not common for Adam's condition.
Instead of laughing and making fun of him, we should be applauding his efforts and his determination to play that game that many thought would be impossible. Fans at places such as Hawaii, Irvine, and the jerks at Long Beach should be ashamed of the way that they handled themselves towards Adam. He is not only a strong player for putting up with it, but an inspiration to us all.
And to all the people who make fun of Adam, do you also get your kicks by putting sticks in the spokes of someone's wheelchair, moving a blind man's furniture, or screaming at a deaf man? It is appauling to hear some of the audacious remarks made towards him... and frankly, it's sick.

Oh get over it. You do anything different, or look different, you can expect to get heckled. No different than giving someone crap because they're ugly, or have crappy hair, or do something retarded like wear saran wrap or a shoe lace on their head. That's part of the game, if you can't take it, go play girl's volleyball.

Tigfan,
Please don't lump me in with the other hawaii fans who made fun of the pacific player with the dark glasses. When Pacific came to Hawaii and I saw the player with dark glasses I just assumed that it was because of some sort of eye condition that required him to wear the glasses. I read about similar conditions before so naturally I assumed that this was the reason for the glasses. You only heard some of the fans comments not all so please do not get mad at all Hawaii fans because not all Hawaii fans are unfeeling jerks like the ones you are referring to. I'm looking forward to seeing Pacific and Hawaii play this Saturday. It should be a great game between 2 good volleyball teams. Good Luck Pacific and Go Warriors!
