I have heard from numerous sources that there was a forum that had a few people talking about the attack as if they were witnesses to it, and now that I have read some of this garbage it really pisses me off. This is totally a separate issue from volleyball because this is something that ensued off the court. All you people that hate Lewis for your own reasons I could give two s***s about what you say about us as players on the court or about our program. You can have all the hate filled messages about us all you want, but we are talking about two guys that got seriously hurt for no reason, except for the attackers enjoyment. First off get the number of people involved right, I mean the press didn’t even get it right. There weren’t 4, 5, or 6 there was more like 10 guys and yes they were locals. We flew in Hawaii that day, we had been on a plane for over 9 hours so we walked around the main strip after we had a team dinner. Being 2 blocks from the hotel you are staying at and getting blind sided, I don’t care who you are no one deserves that. There was no drinking involved and it was unprovoked. A short local punk came from across the street behind all four of us to talk trash to one of us, meanwhile his 9 to 10 friends came from behind while our attention and backs were turned watching this local pick the fight. I don’t care who you are you are defenseless when you have a bunch of Pu**** blind-side you like that. There was a police report filed, and there was no arrests made because the police spent ONLY about 10 minutes looking for them after the incident. I spent the remainder of that night into morning in the emergency room with my friends till 4 am while they got cat scans on their heads. One of my friends has to have plastic surgery to repair his face. So for all you people that wanted the truth….there it is. For all you people that don’t care and are going to just keep writing bull-**** on here try getting a life! You guys are pathetic! Stop talking about s*** that you have no insight on what so ever. Try sounding a little more educated because half you guys on here have the education of an 8th grader.

On the court is one thing. Off the court is a different one, assumptions, should never be used to judge someones character or their actions. I am with Kevin on this one (surprised?!?)

Why didn't those players filed charges against these individuals? A police making a report of the incident isn't the same as having a police to file assult charges (But even then, most times the police will tell you to fill out the police form of the incident if you were to file assult charges against another). As far as the police here taking only ten minutes to look for these individuals, how do you know this is true and the police weren't still looking for the individual after they left the scene? Just because you aren't aware of it, doesn't mean they'd stopped looking.

I haven't read all the posts on this board recently but I read them as soon as the incident occurred. I don't know what negative posts there are. I thought people on this board were civil and gave the Lewis players best wishes for a speedy recovery. If there were any negative posts, they were few and far between. Some idiots will be idiots. I personally didn't think the Lewis players started the fight. Why would they? They're on vacation in Hawaii and here to play a couple of matches. They would get into serious trouble from Lewis if they got into some altercation they brought upon themselves. It just doesn't wash. Good luck Lewis and hope this doesn't reflect poorly on Hawaii. Punks will be punks wherever you go.

Idaho Boy I think you are missing the point. The Lewis team were the guests of the Hawaii team and the people of Oahu. Not a nice showing by the Honolulu folks.

And how do you know they were locals first of all? Another thing, what makes you think the Lewis players didn't start this too? Because some Lewis fan says so? Perhaps the reason why no charges were filed, is because the Lewis players knew they were in the wrong?

Idaho Boy I think you are missing the point. The Lewis team were the guests of the Hawaii team and the people of Oahu. Not a nice showing by the Honolulu folks. What if the players were being bad guests? What's to make me think that this isn't some troll saying he is "in the know?" My grandpa always told me, it takes two to tango... I've never ever seen a fight that was one-sided and random. I've seen my fair share also. There is always an exchange before-hand that instigates it. If they were my guests, and being jerks, I'd be pretty put out. I understand the point of the other thread, but I don't buy this source. I could pick it apart, but I don't think it warrants that much of my time. I'd bet a dollar to a donut, that the Lewis players were being rude and disrespectful. So, I think that this reflects MORE badly upon the Lewis players and team than it does on Hawai'i!! How many other incidents like this have there ever been in Hawai'i? As an example, H2O: if I was visiting your house, and was being very rude, obnoxious, and provoking, what would YOU do?

Unfortunately IdahoBoy, you are dead wrong on this one. Take it from one "in the know"

Since I'm wrong, I'll revert out of argument mode, and fall back to my first thoughts in the other thread.
I'm sorry that this happened, and I hope that all comes out ok for the Lewis players.

My only question is who wanders around anywhere at midnight? Even Waikiki is usually pretty empty by then. About the only things open are clubs and bars.

OK Guys you are missing the point. the fact is that 2 fellow volleyball players were hospitalized. No matter what they were doing nobody deserves to be beaten up by 5 - 10 or whatever people it were.
I think we should stop assuming and just realize that sometimes bad things happen to the unfortunate. so how about we drop the subject

So, I missed the point twice here... what is the point, because I don't see it in your responses saying the point has been missed... anyone?
