Only 6 of these names are familiar to me, and I've only seen two of them play, and that was a year ago or longer.

Cool about Jeff!!!! I'm actually shocked about that ... not because he isn't a great player (he is) or that he doesn't deserve it (he does) but because of IPFW's fifth place finish in the conference. Glad to see that the coaches recognized it. Seems like Serdar and Angel should be on the second team. Hopefully they'll both have something to prove at OS on Saturday night. GO DONS !!!!

I think these are good choices - both teams - including Josh Z. He did a nice job this year.

ANyone know when the MPSF and EIVA teams come out? Those teams do look pretty good. I never knew there were so many guys on the 1st team though.

Hola
Definately an interesting announcement today. 1st of all they did away with the Libero of the year and instead awarded a 1st and 2nd team award to them...upping the number to 20 total all-conferance. I was also surprised that Barretto got beat by Ptak for POTY. It is kinda strange that a player on the 5th place team got it, but he has been great all year.
All in all not too many surprises in my opinion. Elsea getting the nod over Miller was a bit surprising, but not out of whack. As for all the Serdar (sp?) fans...he didn't even hit .360 as a middle in the MIVA and you thought he was robbed?

You are right about Serdar and Angel. They both should have gotten into the 2nd team instead of the guys from Findlay.

Later Roofan Serdar Sikca finished the regular season 2nd in blocking after Matt Denmark and is in the top 6 in the country. He is the ONLY FRESHMAN in this category in top 15. He hit .360 in the season because setter Dennis Santiago set him ONLY at time when he had to because Jeff Ptak and Matt Zybzsewski were getting most of the balls. Watch Serdar and Angel against Ohio State !!!

Josh Zuidema doesnt deserve it?
He is one of the best clutch players in the nation. We made tournament teams 3 times this season. At Hawai'i, Rutgers and Long Beach State. Don't tell me that he doesnt deserve it.
Andy Cole got his award just because he played in most matches of all freshman. Serdar is better player than him and couple of others from other teams.
True players will come in semi and final games of the tournament. Only than will we find out who truly deserves to be on that list.

Serdar is obviously a better player than Andy Cole from Ohio State but he had the edge since OSU beat IPFW twice this season. And can anybody explain me why 3 out of 10 players in the first team are setters That just doesn't make any sense with the whole concept of the game of volleyball.
