I don't like Pavlik's argument. How is having a quarter or even half the field unranked a better tournament? It would be a better tournament if they just took the top four from the MPSF. Not necessarily as fair, but there is a whole lot more parity in the 8 team MPSF tournament than there has been in recent final fours.
You would think he would be for it, considering it would pretty much guarentee Penn State a spot in the playoffs. My guess is he doesn't like the possible scenario of having to beat three MPSF teams in order to win a championship. No more just having to upset one MPSF team in the finals.
