So far, it's not a very good movie. It's really not. It was the sequel that was a great movie. Between the first movie and the second movie Miller studied up on mythological archetypes and decided to make Max a classic mythic hero ("the hero's journey", etc. etc.). It worked.

As I said, I watched Road Warrior back in college even though I don't remember anything about it. I do remember that it was a good movie.

The Road Warrior
Watched 45 minutes of it and it's not bad. I'd say it's quite good. The pacing is good. No awkwardly long scenes of unimportant things, something which really plagued the original Mad Max movie.

Mad Max Fury Road. Best movie of all time. Just amazingly well-made cinema. They are all good, but Fury Road was the best made. That guy playing the guitar at the front of the truck was quite cool! Of the original trilogy, I liked Thunderdome the best: "Well ain't we a pair, Raggedy Man" But its a toss-up between Thunderdome and Fury Road...great action in Fury Road.

The Road Warrior
Done. For a movie that was made in the early 1980s, it felt very modern. Some great camera angles and great choices by George Miller in creating a punk rock vision of the Post-Apocalypse.

I highly recommend Where'd You Go, Bernadette? It seemed oddly familiar to me all along, but it took me 30-45 minutes before I realized I had read the book. Blanchett -- and the entire cast -- is very good.

Blanchett -- and the entire cast -- is very good. Quote from a review from a Seattle paper: We also ... spend a bit of time in the actual Space Needle restaurant, which I initially thought couldn’t possibly be the Space Needle restaurant as nobody onscreen was complaining about the prices.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Jeez! I thought this movie was unwatchable. Lots of elements that feel dated -- the soundtrack that sounds very 1980s and the film style. We couldn't make it past 15 minutes, right after Mad Max's initial meeting with Tina Turner's character.
So, Mad Max and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome were kind of bad and unwatchable. But Road Warrior was really good. I've already seen Mad Max Fury Road, but perhaps I'll watch it again to see why @ruffda thinks it's the bee's knees.

I can't even remember the plot of the last two Matrix movies. I call this a blessing.

Mad Max Furry Road
I've watched the first 45 minutes and so far, I haven't seen any furry roads. Very misleading title.

Oh No. OMG. I can picture the "furry" Mad Max webcomics -- and I really, really don't want to be picturing this.
