Hmmm...what do you guys think of Wonder Woman 1984:
The music is very techno 80's style and the dress and cars are period-appropiate. You got a sleazy salesman type as a villian and also Kristian Wiig as the other villian Cheetah.

Another Top Gun trailer is out. I still prefer the (now retired) F-14 to the F/A-18 Super Hornet, but ah well, the Tomcat was becoming a maintenance hog and it had to be retired.

I still prefer the (now retired) F-14 to the F/A-18 Super Hornet 1960s tech whose main claim to fame was firing a missile that never produced a single hit for the US Navy. (The Iranians claimed many kills with it in the Iran/Iraq War.)

(The Iranians claimed many kills with it in the Iran/Iraq War.) Shrugs, if it works. I mean the 737 design is still rooted in 1960's technology, no? And yet it still flies today with more modern versions. And the F-14 could fly faster and further than the Hornet. I like that. As for the Phoneix missile, the US never really had the opportunity to use it in combat, doesn't mean the weapon is defective or not effective.

Rise of Skywalker is officially released in the US and China on Friday, Dec 20th. Yet, I was able to buy an IMAX ticket for tomorrow, Dec 18th. I'll go and watch it, wonder what gives.

I'll sell you an IMAX ticket for 5 minutes from now. (It won't get you in to any theater, but you'll have the ticket!)

Nah, they're not like that over here...at least not the theatre I bought the tickets to. Maybe in some small po-dunk town out here somewhere, but the theatre and mall here is quite legit. Curious, though, I just checked the tickets for opening night and its quiet for this movie. Still a lot of seats available, whereas you could barely find seats on opening day for The Last Jedi. So if you're in Shanghai on the 18th or 19th, guess you can see Rise of Skywalker before the world debut. <shrug>

Be sure to come back and post a bunch of spoilers. Bonus points for "two truths and a lie" style. Going to post it on the German Burger King's website. Think they're offering a free Whopper for each spoiler, or something like that.

I have yet to see: Solo Star Wars: The Last Jedi My motivation is not high. I've also not seen either of those. Ditto on the motivation. There are far too many fantasy/sci-fi worlds that are much more interesting and complex than the one George Lucas created, e.g., Battlestar Galactica, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Firefly, just to name a few from the visual media.

I have yet to see: Solo Star Wars: The Last Jedi My motivation is not high. Solo wasn't as bad as they made it out to be in the media...at least not for me. Though I did think Alden Ehrenreich may have tried a bit too hard to play that role, more specifically tried to smile too much to mimic Ford. Plus it was great to see Darth Maul had survived after being cut in half at the end of The Phantom Menace (guess it was all tied to animated series, which I didn't watch).

Plus it was great to see Darth Maul had survived after being cut in half at the end of The Phantom Menace (guess it was all tied to animated series, which I didn't watch). Some vocal "Star War fans" (I have to put them in apostrophes because I seriously question their credibility) have slammed Disney's Star Wars as promoting a SJW agenda instead of good storytelling and that has ruined the franchise for them. I think that is bullsh*t. Disney as Hollywood's largest studio does not care one bit about any SJW agenda, they care about money, as in making lots and lots of money. Personally, my issue with Disney is not with any so-called "SJW" agenda. Its that their Star Wars story don't really connect with me the way Star Wars used to. The new characters just get a "meh" reaction from me, they just aren't memorable the same way as the original characters were. I just don't care about them much. They seem more like just another group of uninteresting random characters thrown together. It says a lot that the best Disney Star Wars film to date, Rogue One, was a side-story rather than the main franchise. Heck, even the prequels, as bad as they are, still had a hook in showing us how Darth Vader became Darth Vader. As for Disney, (SPOILERS)....why killed off Hans Solo only to make a Solo-only movie later on? I think Disney was trying to apply a Marvel Comics approach to Star Wars, but Star Wars don't work quite like that.
