Pepperdine beat Long Beach 3-0! Long Beach was up 29-26 in game 1. Oh well, there's always next year!! Pepperdine came out flat, very flat, and Long Beach couldn't capitalize! Good crowd and Pepperdine took care of business!

Well, we pretty much dominated them. I suggested (from the stands) that they attend one of our summer volleyball camps . I am sure Marv Dunphy would have no qualms with LB players sitting in on and/or watching...maybe taking some notes at some of our practices. Who knows, maybe we'll even throw in some complimentary (x-large) shorts for #21...And some private locker-room moments for #24 and his red-shirt roommate. (Look me in the eyes...you know who I am! I'm the nose-picker...and your father.) Yeah, I'm just kidding. I love you guys. You are a cute volleyball team.

Good one Anonymous Beachman...we don't have day jobs retard, we're students. And rude, crude and classless at that. You have a lot to learn, student.

I am not homophobic so the gay comments really don't faze me much. Maybe I should have said "don't quit school" Just another student who stayed in school because it was easier than looking for a job! However, one of these days the inevitable occurs! I want to wish Pepperdine luck. They have a very good team, that knows how to win, and their coaches are a "class act". I think that it will take a phenomenal effort to take them out!

You're right, this message board is about Men's Volleyball, so I fail to see how Pepperdine Superfans comments added anything to this board. They were mean spirited at best.
If you are a fan, and you want to talk about the match, then talk about how great Pepperdine's block was or how gutsy they played in coming back to win the first game, and thereby, the match.
I was ignoring this thread in hopes that it would just fade to the bottom, but it has not done so.

I think it was Mark Twain who stated," It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool...than to open your mouth and remove any doubt." This year, We've enjoyed many posts from real volleyball fans from all over the country who expressed their comments, views and analysis of various team match ups. By focusing on all the volleyball teams across the Nation, we had an enhanced appreciation of the many volleyball athletes. We've had very few sophomoric, immature posts like I've viewed above...thank heavens. A TRUE FAN appreciates not only the spirit of competition between fabulous athletes, but the manner in which it was played. Case in point, the recent Long Beach vs Pepperdine match. Check out the 49ers roster and you'll see some great players...AND there are NO seniors this year which says volumes for their abilities. The match was a good one. The last time the teams met, it was a 5 game match. Very few teams took Pep 5 games during this season. To make light of this solid Long Beach team illustrates the lack of volleyball knowledge and overall unprofundity. To these moronic posters, I suggest you log in to a chat room more befitting your double digit intelligence quotient, and leave this website to the serious volleyball fans.

you need not stoop to their level by slinging sophomoric insults, being admitted to pepperdine requires a certain amount of academic knowledge, but maturity is something that is learned with time, give them time, they'll grow up; besides i'm sure they're new fans to the game and if you've never been to pepperdine volleyball this season you wouldn't understand the level of rowdiness associated with it, it's like being at a basketball or football game, the fans are out of control at times, it's a great atmosphere for students, but for the casual fan it's difficult to comprehend as it tends to be a generally calm sport when it comes to fans. good luck to all the teams out there and hopefully the best team ends up as the national champion. please don't judge pepperdine as a school, team or fanbase by the inane comments of a few overexcited students. GO WAVES!!
