He's a great guy - but they still shot themselves in the foot when they fired Kellen! Why did they fire her anyway? They thought that they would be able to find something better... that has clearly proven to not be the case... and the kids will suffer because of it... She had the track record to at the very least be given a shot at seeing the program through the transition...

She perfectly fits the new hiring trend. 30 under 30, female - what else can you wish for? It would be a whole lot more surprising if former Bid East assistant would get the job. Neah, no surprises at all! Agreed Young.....inexpensive. Female....PC agenda. Inexperienced....enthusiastic just to get the job and won't know enough to rock the boat. Understands NE volleyball....ok with mediocrity in a sport that isn't important to that region I know that a former Big East head coach applied and got nil response. Here's the thing: Brandeis wasn't a 'New England volleyball job.' Or it didn't have to be. The UAA is a destination conference. It would be easy to recruit at the national level at Brandeis, the same way the successful NESCAC schools recruit all out-of-region. Great academics, national travel, and strong competition. Nobody is going to win there in Waltham UNLESS they develop a national recruiting base. And winning your local New England non-conference matches shouldn't be enough. But apparently, winning locally is enough for the current athletic administration. It looks like Brandeis will be content with fighting Rochester for 7th in the UAA every year. I like Alesia, and think that one day she could have been a pretty good coach. However, the UAA will eat her up. You see the recruiting Emory and Wash U and Chicago did this year? Some terrific kid from MA or CT isn't going to be able able to compete at that level. Oh well. I know a former Metro Atlantic head coach who didn't get a call either.

Anyone know anything about the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia? Funding level, number of assistants etc? Asking for a friend. They still did not hire yet? It's been open forever! Not a good sign! Heard that they fired the AD, SWA/Compliance, Head trainer, and several coaches. Not sure about the coaches, but the administration had all been there for quite a while.

Oswego State (NY) is still interested in hiring a Part-Time Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach. Small stipend, potential housing, one free graduate class per semester, and additional income from Summer Camp. Interested candidates can e-mail JJ O'Connell at Jefferson.OConnell@oswego.edu with letter of interest and resume.

Not sure about the coaches, but the administration had all been there for quite a while. One of my girls planned to go to this university. Went on the trip, came back shocked. Athletic Department is a total mess, according to her parents.
