What explains all the different mens' teams? Lucena and Brunner done? McKienzie and Casebeer seem to be a strange pairing. I had no idea Casey Jennings has played 4 tourneys with Slick internationally in 2013?

I'm interested to see how Robart Page's game translates to the beach. I know he's played before but I am just unfamiliar with his sand game

Unless there is a wildcard or someone drops, it isn't going to happen this tournament. Page/Cabbage are the 5th US team in points registered, so they are out of the tournament as of now due to the country limitations.

It seems like Niles should have qualified for maternity/injury points, but when she was registered for Gstaad earlier this year, they only gave her points under the normal calculation. All of those points are now gone as her 2012 tournaments are more than a year old. Fopma/Sweat 2720 Kessy/Pavlik 2462 Carico/Hughes 1411 Day/McGiven 210 Akers/Niles 0

I know he's played before but I am just unfamiliar with his sand game Page is legit on the sand, although he's still very raw and needs to get much stronger. But he's got some game already, loves playing beach, and of course is 7'-plus.

Fompa/Sweat out. Allison Nicole Fleming (is this Ali Daley?)/Wallin in. BVBinfo lists "Allison Fleming Daley", and UCLA lists Ali Daley's full name as "Allison Nichole Daley", so you must be right. The FIVB listing is actually "Allison Nichole Fleming", with the 'h'.

FIVB did award Niles injury/maternity points. She has 450 and Akers/Niles are in the qualifier, as are Day/McGiven (DiCello).
Pavlik/Kessy and Carico/Hughes had enough points to get into main draw.
On the Men's side all 4 US teams are in the qualifier - Lucena/Bourne, Jennings/Brunner, SLick/Montgomery and McKienze/Casebeer. Amazingly, if the teams stay the same their paths should not cross and hypothetically all 4 could make the main draw.

Some changes on the men's side.
New team:
Derek Olson-Bourne
No Lucena. No McKienzie-Casebeer. Still Jennings/Brunner and Montgomery/Slick as other 2 men's teams.
Women - same teams except Akers/Niles have apparently withdrawn.

Whoa, the women's bronze final (won by Pavlik/Kessy) had a 36-34 first set. Righteous!
