Whitney Pavlik posted on FB that her are Fopma are playing together. One event or long term thing? Anyone know? GLRA?

She is no longer partnered with Brooke and played two years with Whitney before. One step at a time.
The shuffle is on as players seek a magic moment to carry them toward a shot at team #2.
Pavlik has shown solid defense skills behind a big block, especially with Kroop. Good luck to them.

Disappointing pick for Jen. I guess if Emily/Summer stay together Whitney is as good a pick as anyone for the next tournament, but Whitney just isn't going to get any better whereas a lot of other players are. I don't see Fopma/Pavlik as serious contenders for more than maybe 1 win a year (assuming Kerri/April play all the tournaments)
Jen should watch how Day/Ross took Whitney apart and then think again about her options

Totally agree with guest2. As I said on the other thread, Carico would have been the more interesting choice since she's got a ways to go before hitting her ceiling.

I'm curious why people seem to think Pavlik can't get better? She just turned 30. Fopma, who there seems to be a lot of praise on this board for lately, is 32 and a couple years ago was not even close to the player she is today.
Plenty of players have gotten better in their early 30s. So why do people think Pavlik has topped out?

I hope Brooke doesn't turn into the "Nick" on the woman's side. Anyone have updates on her options??

Pavlik is an interesting dimension, sometimes she looks "lights out" and other times looks overmatched. I agree she is still young and learning. She can kill it too, so can't wait till '14 spring when we get to watch REGULAR broadcasts (READ: "Hope") so we get a better feel for the overall play of these pros instead of "one final"...hope springs eternal...

I think Pavlik is the best of the group when we're talking about experienced defenders, mostly because her offense is much better than either Brooke's. I wouldn't be surprised to see some combination of Branagh (who is back on the beach) and/or Kessy (back for one more season) paired with either Niles or Sweat. Carico probably has more upside than any of the above names, but seems locked in with H. Hughes. I don't think Carico has a ton of points in comparison, either.

If Nicole is really back full time playing and training hard (yes I am looking around for the bandwagon) then why not Jen and Nicole?
