The Huskers will open their second season of sand volleyball play in Hawaii on March 20 with a dual against Hawaii in Honolulu. The Huskers will then compete in the Hawaii Invitational with Hawaii, Arizona and USC on March 21-22. Nebraska will move on to face Hawaii Pacific on March 23.

WHo are the better teams for Nebraska? How do they allocate playing time in college sand volleyball - decide who they play with, etc?

It will be interesting to see the two former beach partners playing against each other when Justine Wong Orantes meets up across the net from Sara Hughes.
Is Hawaii streaming these matches?

^ No.
IF the season had been on schedule (i.e. matches being played in the new Ching Complex) then yes.
As it stands, the 2014 UH SVB season is currently played on the shores of Waikiki Beach, O'ahu.

haze; Nebraska's teams are not set for sure yet, we will see in Hawaii who is paired with whom. Right now the only girls from indoor not playing sand are Megan Haggerty and Kelly Hunter (coming off of a foot injury and surgery). Right now the Huskers do not have a separate sand team, their indoor girls play sand. In the spring (off season) you are allowed 8 hrs a week from the NCAA to play/train for indoor. The other 22 hours are spent in sand training. The Huskers have a two week season, the first week in Hawaii the second week in Arizona, then back home to Lincoln and back to indoor to get ready for the two indoor games against Iowa State and Creighton at Wayne State.

The projected pairings according to Huskers.com.
The projected pairs competing in this week’s matches are: 1. Justine Wong-Orantes and Melanie Keil 2. Kadie Rolfzen and Amber Rolfzen 3. Brenna Lyles and Alicia Ostrander 4. Cecilia Hall and Alexa Ethridge 5. Mary Pollmiller and Kelsey Fien Alternate: Kira Larson
Don't know enough about the sand game to explain why, but a few of these pairings surprise me.

that was the pairing for the first match against USC, the change in the second match against Hawaii was #5 Mary Pollmiller and Kira Larson

Huskers got thumped pretty good yesterday. I think they learned the difference between players playing beach, and beach players. Also a big difference between playing indoors in sand and playing outdoors.

Some jet lag.......got into Hawaii (9 hour flight, five hour time difference) on Tuesday afternoon and played on Wed morning. Got beat 5-0 by USC (very good team) and by Hawaii 5-0.(also very good)#2 and #3 ranked. Today had a better day and won some matches and had some very close matches. Four teams made the Gold division after pool play. They will get better every day, dorothy is right USC and Hawaii both have quite a few girls that only play Sand,so they are very experienced. Another tournament tomorrow before they head to Arizona for the next week of tournaments.

USC's team is only beach players. Some of the players have come over from indoor in previous years but no one is playing both. No one from this falls indoor squad on the roster so the ladies have been training in the sand since last spring. Also, the staff is totally separate.

Isn't that because haley doesn't let his indoor players play sand? Or was that just a rumor
