Phoenix, Ariz. – The Nebraska sand volleyball team earned its second dual win of the season on Thursday as the Huskers defeated Grand Canyon 3-2. Coming down to a deciding third set, the 2-1 (24-26, 22-20, 15-8) victory by Alexa Ethridge and Cecilia Hall over Chloe Jenkins and Kami Dickerson proved to help seal the win for NU. Alicia Ostrander and Brenna Lyles defeated Kaitlynn Ausmus and Alex Goodmann 2-0 (21-8, 21-13), while Mary Pollmiller and Kelsey Fien tallied a 2-0 (21-12, 21-9) win over Brandy Grant and Britta Forsythe. Grand Canyon’s No. 1 pair of Mackenzie Phelps and Kelli Dallman defeated Justine Wong-Orantes and Melanie Keil in two sets (23-21, 21-18). The Lopes’ No. 2 squad of Shannond Dugan and Megan Glennie topped Amber Rolfzen and Kira Larson in three sets (17-21, 21-17, 15-7).
